Why do you train?
As a long-time rock climber, I’ve always had reasonable upper body strength but not living very close to any outdoor climbing means I don’t get to climb as often as I used to! I also don’t get enough exercise in my daily life & I felt my strength & and particularly my flexibility could be improved. I split my efforts between strength & conditioning, stretching for increased flexibility & finish the session with relaxing breathwork.
What’s your favourite movement? Overhead press
How does training make you feel?
I look forward to my weekly session & try to give it 100% effort. I always feel energised after working out, but I do get some muscular tiredness the following day or two. I’m not particularly goal oriented but have seen good strength gains since I started. Stretching is always hard work for me & it’s difficult to quantify improvements.
You finish with breathwork - how does this make you feel?
I find the experience to be very calming & relaxing sometimes to the point I catch myself almost dropping off. I do find I have to concentrate & listen to your voice, especially later in the session to avoid that happening! I think it’s a great compliment to the physical conditioning leaving me calmer & de-stressed.
Would you recommend training to a friend? Yes of course!
