"Since moving my 99 year old father into Meadway I have been delighted and reassured by the very caring staff and management. It is a small, personal care home, with lovely large light rooms. What a lovely Boxing Day dinner we had! Our residents enjoyed a delicious salmon en croute with seasonal vegetables, with a lovely sauce, followed by the sweetest surprise – a ginger trifle topped with dancing ginger men 🫚🎶

All lovingly prepared by our amazing Chef Manager Jacqui, who truly sprinkled some festive magic on the day 👩‍🍳💛

What a beautiful Christmas dinner we had yesterday at Meadway 🎄✨
The dining room was full as everyone tucked in, with family and friends joining us.

🎄🎁 A Sweet Christmas Surprise 🎁🎄

Our wonderful catering team have been busy spreading Christmas cheer by making each of our residents a bag of homemade treats to enjoy over the festive season 🍪❤️

Made with lots of care and kindness, these little gifts were a lovely way to say thank you and to make Christmas that bit more special for everyone. A huge well done to our amazing team for putting so much thought into it ✨🎄

We had the lovely Knot at Meadway, singing Christmas songs and playing his flugelhorn – similar to a trumpet but with wider, more conical tubing, giving it that smooth, mellow sound 🎶🎺

Lee had everyone smiling as he played and sang all the old favourites, filling the room with Christmas cheer and festive spirit. It was a truly lovely performance that everyone enjoyed ✨🎄

🎄✨ Christmas Party at Meadway ✨🎄

We had a wonderful Christmas party at Meadway, with lots of family and friends coming together to celebrate. Everyone enjoyed a fun quiz, plenty of laughter, and amazing party food made by our brilliant chefs, Jacqui, Sue and Ellie, coordinated by Jeanette. Well done everyone. 👏🍽️

The room was filled with happy chatter, festive cheer, and so many smiles – a truly lovely way to celebrate the season. 🎅🎶

Winter Sports Morning ❄️
We had the lovely Kirsten from Rise Life Wi******er and Southampton with us this morning.
The theme was winter sports, including ice skating, skiing, hockey, football and snow ball fighting.

Things became very competitive, especially during the snowball fight, where residents had great fun trying to hit Kirsten with soft cotton “snowballs”.

Thank you, Kirsten — the residents had a wonderful time.
Exercise has never seemed so much fun.

This morning we enjoyed one of our much-loved yearly traditions — making Stollen together,
nearly everyone had a turn stirring.
Residents spoke about the Christmas traditions they used to enjoy, from baking Christmas cakes to making cheesecakes, and so many other festive treats. These stories naturally led on to sharing what Christmas meant to them over the years — family gatherings, special meals, and favourite moments from past celebrations.

A special thank you to Jacqui, who turned the mixture into delicious Stollen bites and made them gluten free, so everyone could enjoy them together.

🎄 A Musical Christmas Treat 🎶
We were delighted to welcome back Josh and Arabella, who filled our home with festive cheer through their beautiful Christmas songs. Their lovely performance had everyone listening enraptured, truly getting us into the Christmas spirit. ✨

Afterwards, residents enjoyed a nice cup of tea and some delicious cake, with plenty of smiles, conversation. A truly heart-warming afternoon — thank you, Josh and Arabella, for such a special visit! ☕🍰💖
