Wi******er Health Clinic

Wi******er Health Clinic are a part of the University of Wi******er and offer a community facing Physiotherapy Clinic. Undergraduate students on the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree program work alongside the Health and Care Professions Council-accredited (HCPC) clinic manager during placements as part of their studies. Services they are currently offering include Physiotherapy, Aquatic Physiotherapy & Sports Massage.

The world is a crazy place currently but we wanted to let you all know if you have an ache or pain that is stopping you doing the things you love - don’t let money stop you getting it sorted.

👨‍🎓 As a student clinic, we are able to offer some really affordable appointments and remember everything is supervised my our experienced clinic manager! So you get to see an experience physiotherapist for great value!

£40 is our standard price

£30 for Wi******er sport and leisure centre gym members and selected partners

£20 for Students!

We think that in the current climate that is great and want to shout about it!!

Long Covid

Here are some benefits to the hydrotherapy sessions that we offer:

1. Pain relief and reduction of muscle spasm.

This is because of the warmth of the water and the reduced effect of gravity.

2. It helps to ease movement and improves joint range and flexibility.

There is support of buoyancy and a reduced effect of gravity.

3. Reduction of swelling and improved circulation.

There is the ability to move more freely in the water.

4. Improved strength and endurance.

This is because of the drag effect and the weight and density of the water which causes resistance against the body.

5. Balance, coordination and posture

There is the support of buoyancy and variation in weight bearing as well as assistance or resistance to movement which the water provides.

6. Improved cardiovascular fitness

When exercising there is resistance to movement which the water provides.

7. Enhanced relaxation

This is due to the reduced effect of gravity, the support of buoyancy, reduction in pain and the hypnotic effect of water.

8. Enhanced feeling of well-being

There is social interaction, enjoyment and independence in the classes.

9. The benefits of exercise

This improves cardiovascular and respiratory function, posture and appearance, relief of tension and delays aging progress.
