Big weekend for Synergy athletes.
PBs across the board at the Solent Half Marathon and podium finishes for Christina at Battersea and Hattie at Southampton.
Results like this don’t happen by chance. They come from consistent training, trusting the process and turning up week after week.
Proud of every one of them. The work continues and we build into the season

Setbacks happen in running — injury, plateaus, life.
has been training with me for nearly two years and has experienced the highs and lows of marathon training. But her dedication, diligence and trust in the process mean she always keeps moving forward.
Days like today — 1st female and back under 23 at Netley — are the reward for weathering the storm.

3 weeks to go.
In 3 weeks I’ll be stepping well outside my comfort zone and taking on HYROX at London Olympia.
Excited. Nervous. Ready.
The work ramps up now. Sessions get harder. Focus gets sharper. No shortcuts.
HYROX has already been a serious learning curve, but that’s the point — growth happens where things get uncomfortable.
Head down, trust the process, and keep turning up. Can't thank Dan enough for his expert guidance
Let’s see what’s there on race day.

Back on the path to something that means a lot.
Yesterday marked the start of a journey back to the 100 — an event I haven’t done since 2017. It’s more than just an event for me. My dad completed 16 of them, so this one carries a bit of weight.
This year it’s in Kent, so after getting my qualifier done (50 miler), it was time to get out on the course. Caroline and I tackled the night section from checkpoint 5 to 8… and it turned into a proper boggy adventure.
22 miles of running, walking, slipping, laughing — learning the route the hard way.
Loved every minute of it.
This will be my 5th one — having completed them in Lancashire, South Wales, Dorset and North Yorkshire.
Now we just need it a bit drier come May

The PB's keep on coming a 33 second PB today for despite a busy job and family life we structured Annie's plan around what was realistic and achievable. She continues to train hard on her journey to and coach David is there every step of the way.

putting in the hard miles to achieve big goals. Ali has been coached by me for 8 months her original goal was to go sub 30 for 5k! She has smashed her PB's at every distance and continues to improve. A structured plan and hard work reaps the rewards

What a morning 100 events completed and 25 individual volunteers. Made even better by my amazing friends who turned out in the cold to support me. Followed by coffee and amazing cake supplied by and lots of lemony loveliness all round. Thanks to you bunch of wonderful humans

Whilst I don’t consider myself a triathlete anymore, I still love training all three disciplines — swim, bike, run — and now adding gym work for Hyrox.
Since October I’ve had a real run focus and I’m running the quickest I have since I was 35.
Progress isn’t linear though… picked up a small hamstring ni**le.
But here’s the thing 👇
One of the biggest advantages of doing multi sport training is having options.
🏊 Swim
🚴 Bike
🏋️ Strength
🏃 Run
Instead of stopping completely, I can dial running back into a rehab phase while increasing the others to maintain (and even build) fitness.
I can still run — I’m just being sensible.
Reducing high-speed work.
Strengthening the posterior chain.
Loading the hamstring progressively.
This isn’t a setback. It’s a recalibration phase.
Speed exposed a weak link.
Now we strengthen it.
Then we come back faster and more durable.
That’s the long game.

Our resident Sport and Remedial Massage Therapists are David Hooper and Juliet Rowe.
Both David and Juliet have undertaken a Level 5 BTEC qualification with the London School of Sport and Soft Tissue Therapy and are registered with the Institute of Sport and Remiedial Massage (ISRM) and the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
The role of the sport & remedial massage therapist includes the assessment of the soft tissues of the body to help prevent and manage dysfunction, injury, pain or physical disorders. This is achieved by the physical, manual manipulation of the soft tissues with supportive advice on exercise and training. Our Sport & Remedial Massage Therapists practice within those fields for which they have been trained to a level of competence acceptable to the Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage. They operate as members of our health care team.
Diagnosis and Treatment of Injury and Medical Conditions
The diagnosis and treatment of injury and medical conditions is the responsibility of the medical practitioner and not the massage therapist. But in the private sector people can go to a massage therapist without seeking a medical opinion first. Our practitioners will alwasy refer clients to a medical practitioner when appropriate.
How Remedial Massage Can Help
For many thousands of years massage has been used effectively to deal with minor soft tissue conditions (affecting muscles, ligaments and tendons), and its uses and benefits are no less today than they have ever been. The majority of general aches and pains that are caused by lifestyle stresses are minor soft tissue conditions. Although they may recover naturally over time this is often not the case and they can develop into more serious and complex issues. Remedial massage has shown over the years to be a fast and effective way of dealing with these minor soft tissue conditions by assisting the body's own natural repair processes.
As a Complementary Therapy
Even with more serious injuries there is nearly always some secondary soft tissue condition also involved. This is usually because the muscular system is protecting or compensating for the more serious problem. Remedial massage can have a vital complementary role to play, in support of the medical practitioner, dealing with these secondary problems which otherwise may prevent a good recovery.
Sports Massage
This is a speciality within remedial massage that uses the same range of clinical skills. Many "so called" sports injuries have much to do with an athlete's posture and/or other factors outside of their sport, and the distinction between the two is often unclear. The real difference with sports massage is the focus on recovery from training and the early identification and treatment of potential soft tissue problems. With a thorough assessment of the condition of the athlete's soft tissues through massage, the therapist can monitor how he or she is responding to training. This can allow the athlete to "fine-tune" their training to avoid injury and enhance performance.
