There is so much to be grateful for within the NHS 🙏

From pregnancy through to birth, the care provided by midwives, GPs and health visitors is invaluable.
And yet, postnatal recovery is deeply personal. Often complex. And rarely something that can be fully explored in a single appointment.

This World Health Day, we are reflecting on what postnatal care can look like when there is:
– time to talk
– space to be heard
– and access to specialist support when needed

At The Natal Clinic, we offer a more considered approach, working alongside NHS care to provide:
🤍 Unhurried, in-depth appointments
🤍 Collaborative care for both mother and baby
🤍 Clarity, reassurance, and a personalised plan

So if you ever feel like you need more…we’re here for you. In some cases, we are able to book virtual appointments.

Is there a “best” age to divide a tongue tie? Am I too late?

The simple answer is no.

Every baby is different. Sometimes early treatment is needed if feeding pain or ni**le damage is preventing breastfeeding from being established. In other cases, giving babies time to feed first can help avoid unnecessary intervention.

Older babies may have had more time to establish feeding, but procedures later on can sometimes mean more discomfort afterwards.

✨ The most important thing is looking at the whole picture; baby, feeding and family wellbeing.

At The Natal Clinic, we assess babies up to 8 months old and always take a family-centred approach when deciding whether a tongue tie division is the right step.

If you’re wondering whether your baby may have a tongue tie, you can book an assessment via the link in our bio.

😊 Integrity matters to us.

Not every tongue-tie needs dividing, and careful assessment is just as important as treatment, here at The Natal Clinic.

We’re proud to offer thorough, doctor-led tongue-tie assessments where parents feel listened to, reassured, and never rushed.

“Nothing was too much trouble” is exactly how postnatal care should feel.

Thank you for the 100% recommendation! It means everything to us.

While feeding can feel unfamiliar at first, persistent pain is usually a sign that something needs adjusting, not something you should simply endure.
