Are you ever alone with nature all around us? Here’s 10 things I like to do to remind myself the answer is no…
1. Put my palm on a tree trunk and match my breath to the wind.
2. Name 5 sounds — then listen for the quiet underneath them.
3. Watch one tiny thing for a full minute (a leaf, an ant trail, ripples).
4. Walk slower than I want to. Let the world “catch up” to me.
5. Pick up one stone and feel its weight like an anchor.
6. Follow the brightest patch of light like it’s a breadcrumb trail.
7. Look up. Really up. (Sky = instant perspective reset.)
8. Find a “friend” — a bird, a mushroom, a stubborn little w**d — and greet it.
9. Take three “arriving breaths”: in through the nose, out longer than in.
10. Leave a tiny offering of care: pick up one piece of litter, gently.
If you needed a sign to step outside today… this is it. 🌿
