Back home and recovering from an almost week long trip......First stop: Barcelona, attending a cadaver course organised by Southern Implants, with Dr Rolf Bettens teaching his Pterygoid Implant technique and Dr Costas Nicolopoulos teaching Zygomatic Implants. It was great to learn Rolf’s well structured Pterygoid Implant technique and confirm also that my Zygo technique is very similar to Costa’s. Amazing event organised by Southern Implants!
Next stop: Skopje, where I lectured at their National Implantology Conference. Great event and hospitality from the organisers!

Yesterday’s case.......Extremely atrophic mandible treated with a customised subperiosteal implant by BoneEasy. The patient was wearing dentures for many years and wanted a fixed solution. She was given the option of implant retained denture and of major grafting and conventional implants but preferred to have this over the other 2 solutions.

Today, I tried a new (for the UK market) membrane made of resorbable metal - Magnesium. It is called NovaMag, made by Botiss dental and distributed by Megagen Implants UK & Ireland. The handling of this metal membrane is easy, soft but sturdy, very similar to titanium mesh of similar thickness. I was very happy with this product and I am really curious to see the result in 3-4 months! First time I used it and definitely not the last!
