🌞🎨 Crafting = Mental Health Magic for Kids This Summer! ✂️🖌️
The summer holidays are the perfect time to get creative—and crafting isn’t just fun, it’s great for kids’ mental health! Here’s why:
Emotional Expression 💖
Crafts help kids express what words can’t. Whether happy or anxious, creating something helps them process and release big feelings.
Mindfulness & Focus 🧘♂️
Crafting brings kids into the present moment, reducing stress and improving focus. It’s a screen-free way to relax and recharge!
Building Confidence 🌟
Completing a craft gives kids a sense of achievement, boosting their confidence and resilience.
Teamwork & Social Skills 🤝
Crafting together promotes sharing, cooperation, and communication—essential for emotional growth.
Let’s keep the summer fun AND help kids build mental strength through creativity! 🌿✨

🌿 Hello! I’m Kate of – and I’m so happy you’re here! 🌈
I’m an experienced Early Years teacher, Children’s Yoga Instructor, and Senior Mental Health Lead, and I’ve spent over a decade nurturing little learners to grow, thrive, and shine.
As a child, I was never far from a box of paints or a pile of paper — and that love for creativity stayed with me. I’ve been privileged to lead Art and Design in schools, and now I’m combining this with my love of all things ‘mental health’ and bringing that passion into a new space:
✨ This Autumn 🍂 , I’m excited to be offering:
🧘♀️ Children’s Yoga & Mindfulness in schools – blending movement, breath, storytelling and emotional literacy
🎨 Yoga & Craft Workshops – calm, creative sessions where children move, make, and mindfully express themselves
Everything I do is grounded in connection, imagination, and the belief that wellbeing starts with feeling seen, safe, and inspired.
Thank you for being here — I can’t wait to share this journey with you 💫

Yoga and stories are a match made in heaven! 📖
Below are some of my favourite stories to add some movement and breath-work to 🧘♀️
Which story would your little one love to see? 👧 👦

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for your support and well-wishes on my last post.
I truly believe that yoga & mindfulness have such a positive impact on young minds. If we teach children the skills now, it will give them a toolbox of resources they can draw upon when navigating difficult emotions and help develop a good understanding of their own emotions and needs. They’re skills for life!
If you’re a school leader, I have lots of experience embedding this within existing curriculums and can seamlessly weave sessions into topics/themes (as a side note, sessions can inspire some excellent creative writing!) I have also worked 1:1 with children and adapted to personal needs.
I am also keen to set up an after school club/ holiday club depending on interest.
Price will be competitive/negotiable depending on proximity to Windermere.
I will pop in a poll below on a range of offerings, please choose any/all that you feel would benefit your child/school community.

‘Yoga from the heart ... in the heart of The Lakes.’
A qualified teacher through Avani Yoga Academy and Yoga Alliance, I teach seasonally themed Yoga classes in Windermere and Staveley. My style of teaching is creative and heartfelt, offering a complete practice of yogic breath-work, asana (postures,) meditation and relaxation techniques.
Classes will vary in style and content week by week, drawing upon seasonal changes and the energy of the class, making for a nurturing and tailor-made experience. Yogic philosophy will be seamlessly woven throughout to give you the tools to take your yoga 'off the mat' and bring the benefits of your practice to your everyday life.
I am also a Registered Pregnancy Yoga Teacher through Yoga London, specialising in both pre and postnatal yoga. As a new Mum myself, I've recently experienced first-hand how Yoga can help you nurture yourself and your baby throughout pregnancy and the early days of motherhood. I am passionate about helping Mums connect with their bodies and breath whilst adjusting to the changes we encounter both during and post-pregnancy, building strength and helping you feel both calm and empowered.
Families are at the very core of what and why I teach. As an Early Years teacher of 10 years and qualified Kid’s Yoga Teacher, I understand and value the importance of mindfulness and Yoga in regards to mental health and aim to help children and their families develop tools to live a more connected, stress-free life.
