DOMINIQUE'S HAND FUNCTION RESTORED AFTER WIDE AWAKE SURGERY

One of my patients, Dominique's hand function was restored after wide awake surgery at BMI The Princess Margaret Hospital, having being diagnosed with carpel tunnel syndrome and tendon sheath inflammation.

Dominique concluded “I would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Granville-Chapman – my hand is now 95% back to normal function and it’s so reassuring being able to do exercise and my daily routine tasks once again."

KEVIN BACK ON TRACK AFTER SHOULDER REPLACEMENT SURGERY at BMI The Princess Margaret Hospital.

One of my patients, Kevin, came to see me with severe pain and loss of function in his shoulder. Unfortunately the wear was bad enough that only a joint replacement operation would give a reliable and durable relief.

Kevin said "My recovery has since been incredible - I have far more movement now than I did before the operation and I no longer have the stabbing pain in my shoulder. The whole experience has been wonderful and I’m loving being able to drive again."

DIANA PAIN FREE AFTER REVERSE SHOULDER REPLACEMENT SURGERY

Diana had a reverse shoulder replacement with Mr Granville-Chapman at BMI The Princess Margaret Hospital and is now pain free and back in her studio making her ceramic sculptures.

Diana said: “I was absolutely staggered how relatively pain free I felt after surgery. Although there was some pain for the first few days, I took some pain relief, had physio once a week and after that I was pain free. My arm and shoulder feel 100% better.... I would definitely go and see him again and I would most definitely recommend him to my friends.”

TARRY RETURNS TO GOLF!
One of my patients Mrs Tarry, a keen golfer, had an arthroscopic massive rotator cuff repair at BMI The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor.
I am so pleased with Mrs Tarry’s progress. Thankfully, I was able to achieve a complete repair of her torn tendons and she has made a very good recovery, with excellent pain relief and function, even at this relatively early stage.

LOCKDOWN 3 - COVID-19 UPDATE

The key points are:
1: Outpatient Clinics with me are still running
2: If you prefer not to come in person, we can arrange telephone or video consultations
3: All outpatients clinics employ ‘Covid-secure’ pathways. I am tested twice weekly and have been vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine due to my role in the NHS
4: Sadly, but understandably, planned surgery has been temporarily suspended at BMI The Princess Margaret Hospital and Spire Thames Valley Hospital.

COVID-19 UPDATE FOR PATIENTS

We are now offering face-to-face consultations at all sites. We have recommenced planned operating and are working hard to organise dates for patients on the waiting list. We hope waiting times will gradually reduce back to normal private practice times as private hospital theatre capacity is slowly restored to normal.

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE FOR PATIENTS

As the COVID-19 pandemic has progressed the private hospitals operating capacity has reduced and planned surgery is now no longer being offered.

Clinic appointments are currently still being held. We are able to see patients at all locations currently. If and when BMI The Princess Margaret Hospital and Spire hospitals close, we shall still be able to see well patients at OPUS in Ascot.

We are happy to arrange telephone/video consultations for follow ups where possible.

We shall update this information as the situation changes.

CORONAVIRUS - Advice for patients

You will all be aware that the current COVID-19 pandemic is placing strain on healthcare systems worldwide.

We are working according to guidance from Public Health England and the private hospitals in which we work.

Currently we can still see patients and undertake surgeries. Please restrict relative visitors to one if possible and do not attend if you are experiencing a fever, dry cough or other symptoms of the virus. The current recommended isolation period is 14 days.

It is likely that, at some point, the private hospitals will be used to treat patients with COVID-19 and they will therefore shut to routine private care. If this impacts you, my secretary will contact you.

We are exploring ways to offer remote telephone/AV consultations and we’ll let you know when this comes online. In the meantime, if you would prefer a telephone consultation, we can arrange that.
