Are you feeling exhausted, unwell, or unlike yourself despite doing all the right things and being told your tests are normal? Yes? Well, you are not alone. πŸ™‚

I am Gemma, a Nutritional Therapist at Wild Apple Nutrition Ltd. I work with women like you, who are capable and busy, yet dealing with symptoms that do not match their lifestyle. These can include persistent fatigue, brain fog, poor sleep, anxiety, gut issues, food reactions, hormonal changes including perimenopause, and weight changes that will not shift. The kind of things we normalise. But really, really shouldn't.....

I work within a Functional Medicine framework. That means we look at the whole picture and focus on identifying likely root causes, then building a personalised plan based on your body, health history, lifestyle, and goals.

My support is not generic advice or a one size fits all approach. We may explore:
🍏Nutrition and nutrient status
🍏 Digestion and gut function
🍏 Hormones, including perimenopause
🍏 Stress levels and life load
🍏 Sleep and circadian rhythm
🍏 Blood sugar balance
🍏 Mental wellbeing

The aim is realistic and sustainable change, not quick fixes. We focus on habits that work in real life so results last.

If you would like to learn more about my programmes, you can find details here:

Your cells do not know how old you are. They do not have a calendar.

They only know the messages they are getting every day, from hormones, blood sugar, stress chemistry, sleep, gut signals, and the food on your plate.

And in perimenopause, one of the biggest message changes is oestrogen. Oestrogen is bigger than we think, it's a whole body signal that links into metabolism, appetite, belly fat changes, brain fog, mood, sleep, skin, joints, gut, and so much more. Nothing makes this clearer than perimenopause.

I’ve written a blog that pulls it all together and explains why the apple shape shift and the hunger changes make sense when you see the body as one connected system.

If you have been feeling different lately, this will give you practical ways to change the messages your cells are receiving. https://www.wildapplenutrition.co.uk/post/oestrogen-isn-t-just-for-periods

I’m asked all the time about protein powders. Are they necessary, are they helpful, and should you be using one?

There is a lot of noise around protein powders, so in this blog I look at where they can genuinely help, where they are often overused, and why real food should always come first.

If you want a clearer and more balanced take on whether protein powders have a place in your diet, have a read here:

Protein powders - what's the truth behind them?

Recommendations for, or advice on protein powders are some of the most common nutrition questions I am asked. When people learn that I am a nutritional therapist, this topic comes up frequently, alongside questions about magnesium, collagen, creatine and Mounjaro. For my responses on those, see my b...

HbA1c, fasting glucose, fasting insulin - mine are solid. What tgis doesn’t show me is the spikes and troughs I get with certain foods, stress, exercise, or the difference a poor night’s sleep does to my glucose clearance.

I like to cover all bases, and I can’t afford not to monitor this when I have both ME and perimenopause competing to drain my energy πŸ˜…

If you have any fatigue issues, prediabetic, diabetic, hypoglycaemic, or navigating the perimenopause- tgen we can do tgis together with nutritional therapy. Book a free Health Review via my profile 🍏

Today I was quoted in a BBC article about nutrition and health tracking, which was a great opportunity to share my professional perspective. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdr2lrg87vmo

It’s an interesting conversation, and while some tools can become very in-depth, in clinic I often find that simpler approaches work best. A food and symptom journal is still one of the most useful ways to identify patterns and understand what supports or disrupts your health.

I’ve shared more context in my latest newsletter, you can sign up here https://www.wildapplenutrition.co.uk/newsletter or just message me and I'll pop you over a copy.

I have spaces for three new clients in March, and if you'd like to be one of them then please book your free Health Review here https://my.practicebetter.io/ #/6129047639803303a0af2408/bookings?s=62f4ee2a024d82abfe83aafb&step=date
