💖 Love your heart this February! 💖

February isn’t just about Valentine’s 💌 -it’s Heart Foundation Heart Month, and it’s the perfect time to shine a light on heart health during and after menopause. ❤️

As your menopause coach 💪 I want to gently remind you of something really important: your heart health deserves attention -especially during and after menopause.

As oestrogen levels change, the risk of heart disease increases for women, yet it’s still often misunderstood or missed. Symptoms don’t always look like we expect - breathlessness, nausea, dizziness, jaw or back pain can all be signs worth listening to.

As your coach, I encourage you this month to:
❤️ keep moving in ways that feel good
❤️ prioritise stress management
❤️ know your blood pressure and cholesterol
❤️ tune in to your body — and trust it

Heart Month is a reminder that caring for others starts with caring for yourself. Your health matters, and your heart matters.

I hope you're having a good week so far, despite this rain.

Just a quick note to let you know that I have changed the time of the Friday class. I've made this change to give people more time between finishing work and starting Yoga, the Friday class will start at the slightly later time of 6pm and finish at 7.30pm.

Do want to unwind and de-stress?

Have you had a busy week and feel exhausted or stressed? Whether you have a busy work life, where you've spent hours in front of a computer screen, or have been taking care of your family, why not take some time out for yourself to unwind and recharge.

I run a Friday class at 5.30pm, which would be the perfect antidote to a busy life.

NEW YOGA CLASS - Wednesday 7.45pm, Windsor

If you experience lower back ache or you have to cross your legs prior to a sneeze then this class is for you.

I have started a new Yoga class which focuses on Pelvic Health, this is vital in the postpartum period or if you are peri/menopausal, this class is open to both men and women.

A healthy pelvic floor is vital to support our internal organs, our pelvic floor needs to respond to movement such as breathing, walking, squatting etc and it needs to be able to absorb and release forces (recoil).

We are led to believe that a strong pelvic floor in enough, but it's important that it responds appropriately to everyday movements. If we hold tension in the pelvic floor and abdominals, we restrict breathing and movement.

Tonight will be my last class at Yoga for Harmony, after nearly 20 years. Back in the summer of 2006 I taught the very first class at the studio and tonight will be the last weekly class. It's been a pleasure teaching at this venue, meeting new students and sharing Yoga with you all.

If I do not see you before, have a lovely time with friends and family over the Christmas break.

Learning about common postpartum concerns, nutrition, returning to exercise
with Pav .first.pavan

Learning about changes our bodies go through while pregnant and in the postpartum period, Diastasis recti (abs separation) checks with Nandip .osteo

Learning about things to consider when returning to exercise, C-Section scar massage and Postnatal Pilates with Natasha

Learning about how to incorporate the Pelvic floor with the breath (core breath), plus safe postpartum recovery exercises with me Caroline

Take aways for mama's - be kind to yourself you're doing a fantastic job!

Sunday 7th Dec I will be running a YogaBirth class, which consists of Pregnancy Yoga followed by a discussion on Induction of Labour, the process, what to expect and pain relief options.
