Yesterday we celebrated Mother’s Day at Castle View with a very special roast....

Our Sunday roasts are always popular, but we wanted to make the occasion extra special with a welcome glass of fizz and chocolates for all our guests.

Our lounge and restaurant were buzzing with a feel‑good atmosphere as homeowners and their guests came together to celebrate, enjoying a fabulous roast followed by a delicious Gooseberry & Elderflower Fool dessert.

One of our homeowners marked the occasion in our private dining room, which was perfect for bringing the whole family together.

The brightly coloured knitted and crocheted flower hoops were created by our talented Castle View Craft Club especially for our Spring and Summer events.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Castle View celebrated Welsh culture and heritage at our St David’s Day event last week.

We’re very lucky at Castle View to have Homeowners from across the British Isles.....one of the many benefits is the authentic flavour they bring to our celebrations of different patron saints and festivals throughout the year.

St David’s Day was no exception, as we celebrated with Welsh songs, poetry and a traditional menu.

Between courses of Welsh Lamb Cawl, Mash & Buttered Leeks, Eve’s Pudding with cream, and Welsh cakes with decorative (and edible!) daffodil toppers, our in-house Welsh Group - led by Elizabeth in traditional costume - entertained their friends and neighbours with a full programme of readings and singing.

The poetry ranged from the humorous modern poem “Welshness” and the light-hearted “Hymns and Arias” by Welsh legend Max Boyce, to the heart-warming pieces “Hiraeth” and “Rev Eli Jenkins’ Prayer” from Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas. Folk songs “Sospan Fach” and “Calon Lân” were performed in their original Welsh, followed by communal singing (in English!) of classics familiar to most as rugby anthems – “Bread of Heaven,” “Men of Harlech,” and a rousing rendition of “Delilah” with Tom Jones as backing vocals!

The evening finished appropriately with the Welsh National Anthem, “Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau,” sung in its original Welsh by our Welsh Group.

We hope we did Wales proud! Enjoy the pictures of a fun evening....

Last week, our Homeowners were treated to a truly spellbinding performance by Italian tenor Yuri Sabatini at our Opera and Luncheon event.....

Yuri is an award-winning performer who has appeared at prestigious venues across Europe, delighting audiences with his incredible vocal range and stage presence. He captivated everyone at Castle View with a beautiful programme of classical operatic arias and contemporary crossover pieces from musicals.

Alongside his rich, powerful vocals, Yuri’s passion and emotion shone through every note.... and in a wonderful surprise, he even took song requests from the audience! Highlights included favourites from Les Misérables, West Side Story and Man of La Mancha.

To make Yuri feel right at home, we served a delicious Italian-themed two-course lunch of Spaghetti Carbonara followed by Panna Cotta with fruit coulis (for Yuri, of course, post-performance!).

Several of our Homeowners were so impressed, they’re planning to see Yuri again in his upcoming recital, One Enchanted Evening, The Actors' Church in Covent Garden on 12th March at 7:30pm....🎶 🎟️ ....https://actorschurch.org/whatson/one-enchanted-evening/
