Five months on and the "new" version of Business Facebook hasn't changed and is still rubbish.

How on earth are you supposed to "showcase" what you do when these remain the only options available to select from.

If only I'd have known this beforehand, then I'd have screenshot the old information from the relevant categories which at least gave people some indication of what I treat...

I probably need now to rely on word of mouth recommendations... so please spread the word if asked.

Just a reminder, the fee remains £35 for new patients, £30 for subsequent appointments which is still probably (by far) the cheapest in Windsor and surrounding areas...

I don't do home (domiciliary) visits but usually have clinic appointments available so people don't have to wait too long to be seen...

It was the funeral today of Joan Morrell of Eton Wick whose first appointment with me was on 4th November 1986, two months after I began working in Windsor. She was also the seventh patient I have had who reached the age of 100.

I saw Joan regularly - initially at the New Inn surgery in Eton Square where I used a room on a Tuesday morning, then at South Meadow Surgery before a return to the newly built Charteris Day Centre.

Then I continued to see Joan as a home visit until just before her 100th birthday last May when she moved into Clara Court Care Home in Maidenhead.

I have many fond memories of her and her friend Mrs B (Barnett). She will be missed, may she Rest In Peace.

As you will have gathered, I rarely post on my business page, but today felt moved to.

I have been greatly blessed in my 43 years of working as a Chiropodist to have encountered some truly wonderful people (and thankfully still do). That is not to say that the vast majority of the thousands of people I have met and treated don’t fall into the same category and for that I will be eternally grateful but very occasionally…

I, together with a packed St Andrews Clewer met today to bid farewell to one of those, Martin Chandler. Martin was fine upstanding gentleman and family man who was a committed Christian, like myself, and I have rarely encountered someone with a belief and faith as strong as his. It was a genuine privilege to have known him and his wife Isabella and family.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

I am situated in West Windsor, two minutes’ walk from the bus stop in Aston Mead (service - W1 or 2 - timetable see below), but if driving, there is off road parking available. Premises are on the ground floor.

Appointments can be tailored around the bus timetables although there remains limited availability and priority is given to my existing patients:

Service 2 – Courtney/Thames Valley Buses –
stop - Cawcott Drive, estimated times of arrival (weekdays) (from 1st November 2023)
9.33am, 10.33am, 11.33am, 12.36pm, 1.41pm, 2.50pm

Service W1 – White Bus services - Cawcott Drive, estimated times of arrival (weekdays)

I’d just like to take this opportunity to wish the fellow Windsor based Chiropodist, Keith Redding-Thomas, a happy retirement. Keith came to the town circa 1987 having taken over the practice of the retiring Mr Krieger in Alexandra Road and, in time, moved premises to 5 St Leonards Road. We had both trained together on the three year full-time course between 1978 and 1981 leading at the time to State Registration at the Chelsea School of Chiropody. I had taken over the practice of the retiring Mrs Pat Kevane in Vansittart Road on 22nd September 1986 before moving to West Windsor in November 1999.

Following the Prime Minister's announcement on Saturday 31 October about a national lockdown to be implemented from Thursday 5 November, the College can confirm that all medical appointments are still allowed.
