8 Ways to get yourself birth ready. A repost because I forgot some slides!
1. Read, little and often - feel free to drop me a DM on the best books, my fave was Millie Hills positive birth book
2. Ask the questions, if it doesn't feel right you have the power to ask why. Feel informed every step of the way.
3. Perhaps not a romantic date night activity but can you pack your bag together, with your birth team? Let them know where those comfort measures are (eg the birth comb!)
4. Breathe. TV adverts, before bed. There is always time and this will serve you well once birth arrives.
5. if it's not too late, can you protect that due date and keep it quiet? Give yourself time to relax around this time. We want to avoid the stress of "is baby here yet?!"
6. Why not visit your birth space? Hospital's sometimes do tours of midwife lead units. Can explore your options of what birth space looks like?
7. Get your 'do this and don't do this wish list'. Granted some of those things might change but you are still taking control of your controllable elements. Communication with your birth team is only going to help!
8. Let it go! In the words of frozen... it's time to know and understand that birth can be different every time and for everyone.
Even if you're in your final days, take a read and hit save!
