Reflections on 2 weeks of my challenge 🩷

Daily
🩷30 -45 min walk
🩵30 -45 min workout (gym, swim, yoga, pilates etc)
🤍NO COFFEE (probably will be the hardest but for me but I want to break the habit!)
💜NO SUGARY/ULTRA PROCESSED FOODS
💛3 litres of water
💚10 pages of non fiction

Two weeks into my little challenge to create some better habits and honestly I’m feeling so great, it also helps that the UK has been blessed with glorious weather and spring is in full and beautiful bloom! 🌸

What I didn’t say in my initial post is that my husband and I were going to start this together but then he got offered an operation he’d been waiting for to happen on the start date, so he went for it and I decided I would still go ahead with the challenge! Making the time for myself everyday even though we were a man down in the house actually meant that amongst a really busy and demanding time I was on the list and I made myself a priority, previously the practices that fill me up would come if and when everything else was done and often not at all, so having the commitment and discipline to make those better food choices, to get on my yoga mat or pick up the kettle bells at 8/9pm to get it done has shown me how it is possible! We are 2 weeks out of 6 done and I really feel like I will keep it up beyond the 6 weeks 🙏🏼 I’m feeling really happy and that (for the most part) I’m able to handle life’s inevitable challenges so much better 🥹

The biggest challenge?! Probably just fitting it all in, and I’m definitely going to bed a bit too late as a result… I really find non fiction hard to read so if you have any reccs of great non fiction books they are very welcome!

Thanks for all the little messages of encouragement and to say I’ve inspired you to do a workout or go for a walk, that’s how I ended up doing this as I was watching doing this earlier in the year! 🙏🏼🩷☀️

When my lovely friend said she was doing 75 hard challenge in the new year, it sounded great but starting something like that in the depths of winter, and only 5 months post partum just didn’t feel aligned for me. After hearing her musings on completing the challenge last month I was inspired to set myself a little challenge of my own.

Now at 9 months post birth and moving into spring, this feels like the perfect time to kick some habits that aren’t really serving me and create some better routines instead. I feel ready to let go of the excuses of being too tired and busy (which I know are valid but I’m ready!) I eat nourishing meals but rarely say no to coffee, cake, pastries etc as “I’m breastfeeding so I deserve it” 🤣 now I want to really commit to myself, my health and a happier and more energised version of me! So for the next 6 weeks I am going to do daily:

🩷30 -45 min walk
🩵30 -45 min workout (gym, swim, yoga, pilates etc)
🤍NO COFFEE (probably will be the hardest but for me but I want to break the habit!)
💜NO SUGARY/ULTRA PROCESSED FOODS
💛3 litres of water
💚10 pages of non fiction (I read fiction endlessly but find non fiction hard!)

(I already haven’t been drinking alcohol for 18+ months so this is a given part of the challenge)

Sharing this on here to hold myself accountable and I will be sharing little bits of the journey! Excited to see the changes to my body, mind and habits in 6 weeks time! Let’s gooooooo! 💜

💫 It’s competition time! 💫

To celebrate our first (of many) collaborations, and are offering a FREE space at our Wild Yoga & Sauna event on Saturday 25th April 9am-12pm (Worth £55)

A morning of nourishment for your mind, body and soul! Join us for an outdoor Forrest inspired yoga practice led by Holly to awaken your senses, warm and energise the body and lift your spirits. There really is nothing quite like a Yoga class in the elements of nature to invigorate you.

You will then be introduced to the benefits of contrast therapy with Emma and get to experience two different saunas, each set up to offer you a different sensory experience. One is a social sauna where you can connect and enjoy each others conversation; the other will be a silent sauna where you can pause and reflect. You will be invited to try a home-made body scrub designed to exfoliate and energise the skin.

For the moments in between we have a campfire to relax around with herbal teas, marshmallows to toast over the fire, and some homemade baked goodies to keep you going.

💫 December Diaries 💫

Our Christmas break may have played out a little differently to what we had planned but looking back on December we had some really magical times that deserve a spot on the grid ❤️

We had over two weeks of illness and some pretty worrying days but the overwhelming feeling I keep coming back to is gratitude… Grateful for our little family and how we are generally in good health, grateful for our cosy home to hunker down in, grateful for our friends and family, for messages of love and support, for little care packages and food drop offs, for help with logistics and childcare when we needed it most. It really is the little things in life when you look at the bigger picture. Starting 2026 feeling grateful, feeling slow and soft and in no rush, long may it continue 🙏🏼💫❤️

S🌞N-shine on a rainy day!

Our little boy arrived just as the heatwave left, he was born at home in the water ♋️ and I still can’t quite believe it all happened 🙏🏼

We have had a beautiful first week together as a family, taking things slow and soaking up these sacred days in a milky sleepy cuddly haze where time has no meaning 🤍

Heidi is sooooo proud to be a big sister and everything feels pretty magical in this moment 💫

A weekend at the beach before our little S🌞NSHINE arrives…

Feeling extremely grateful for this time away, for the sun, the sea, the space, a weekend to soak up family time, feeing grateful for the blessings of both my babies, not something I take for granted 🙏🏼 enjoying the last days/weeks of little kicks inside before we meet you earthside… I don’t want time to slow down or speed up I am focusing on being as present as I can where we are right now 💛

I never feel as confident or beautiful in my body as these last weeks of pregnancy, so thank you to these little humans for giving me the chance to feel that way 💫

THE MOST GORGEOUS weekend celebrating summer solstice, the longest day and all the sunshine we have in our lives… ☀️ Our 6th wedding anniversary weekend shared with our ever growing soul family 👶🏼 the BEST vibes and a surprise mama blessing from my soul sisters, couldn’t be more grateful for you all (and the absent ones sending the good vibes from afar💜)

Soaking up these last days/weeks with Heidi before our next little soul lands earthside, time spent together in nature is just the BEST (wouldn’t recommend a bike ride at 8+ months pregnant though 🫠🤣🤪)

UPDATE FOR JUNE/JILY CLASSES

😍I have just a couple of Outdoor Yoga classes over the next few weeks and then will be officially on Maternity leave, whilst I’m away I have some wonderful teachers taking care of my classes, to keep you moving and flowing, and to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to your Yoga practice...

🤩Monday’s 2nd June - 21st July 5.45-7pm
Hatha Flow Yoga at Wirksworth Town Hall

Start your week the best way...Flowing through poses in time with your breath, a great way to energise, gently increase your heart rate, open up your body and focus your mind.
Anna Proffitt will be taking on the majority of Monday evening class with Jo Shannon stepping in on 2nd & 23rd June!

Hatha Yoga at The Coach House Studios, Wirksworth
