We have a range of filler and skin booster treatments available in clinic.

Filler and skin boosters in the UK have a classification of medical devices and require a CE kitemark. However, these treatments do not require a separate face to face appointment unlike some anti wrinkle treatments.

This means that following our consultation, you could have these treatments straight away.

It helps being a registered medical professional to understand the classifications in the UK. We are also members of BAMAN so we hear first about regulations.

Government to introduce regulation and licence with cosmetic procedures.

The Department of Health and Social Care this morning announced a “crackdown on cowboy cosmetic procedures “.

I am part of the British Association of Medical Aesthetics Nurses (BAMAN) where any government policy is shared at the time of release.

Did you know ….

The purple bin lid means a separate specialist disposal.

Some treatments in clinic require by law a cytotoxic disposal due to how the products can denature after use.

We have a regular contract with a sharps disposal company. Our waste is checked to ensure we have placed the sharps we use in the correct bin.

We have to show evidence of our disposal system to our regulators.

We complete a full facial anatomy assessment during our client consultation. We discuss the risks and benefits and offer our clients a range of options.

From June 1st the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) have introduced new regulations around the prescribing of anti wrinkle injections (BTX).

A face to face assessment must be completed for every prescribing episode.

Three visits to clinic are required every time :

1. Consultation and assessment.
2. Treatment.
3. Review.

We use Aesthetic Nurse Software to document details of your assessment and treatment.

And yes my regular clients will tell you, I run my clinic like this anyway.

Did you know that small particles of glass can escape into your treatment?!

That's why in clinic you will see me using a blunt filter needle. When a glass vial is opened, small glass particles can potentially go inside the vial then get drawn up and injected into you!

Some practitioners will use other size needles to draw up treatments. Only a red filter needle will guarantee no glass particles.

In other healthcare settings I work in, I will always refuse to use other needles to draw up medications if requested.

We recently attended the Aesthetics Conference and Exhibition.

This is an opportunity to network with fellow aesthetic healthcare professionals and look at new brands for our clinic.

We attended lectures to keep our skills and knowledge up to date.

We absolutely love trying new products in clinic and giving our clients goodies to try at home.

Our nursing knowledge backed with client feedback helps us make the best decisions about what products to stock in clinic🤩
