International Brain Tumour Awareness Week🧠

This week, we join people around the world in raising awareness of brain tumours — supporting those living with the diagnosis, remembering loved ones lost, and recognising the strength of families, carers, and healthcare teams who face this journey together.

At Wisbech Funeral Service, we believe in the power of compassion, understanding, and connection.
By shining a light on brain tumour awareness, we hope to encourage continued research, early diagnosis, and better support for everyone affected.

Let’s take a moment this week to learn, share, and honour.
Every voice raised brings us one step closer to hope. 💛

🌟 Thank you for your amazing support! 🌟

We’re so proud of Laura for completing her incredible sky dive in aid of the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre and the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. 💙

This wonderful charity does vital work in our community — and we’re especially proud to support the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre, where we’re honoured to volunteer.

A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated and cheered Laura on — your generosity means so much! 🙏

If you haven’t had chance to sponsor yet, it’s not too late! Every donation makes a difference and helps support the amazing care the charity provides. 💫

💗 Today we’re wearing it pink! 💗

In support of Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink Day, our team proudly joins thousands across the UK raising awareness and funds for life-saving breast cancer research and support.

Every pink outfit, every donation, and every conversation helps bring us closer to a future where everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives — and lives well. 🎀

Together, we wear it pink for hope, strength, and remembrance.

We had a great morning at Marshland High School’s Careers Fair, chatting with Year 9–11 students about careers, working in funeral service, and the important work we do.

We had some amazing and thoughtful responses to questions such as:
“What qualities do you think you need to be a funeral director?”
“What does a funeral director do?”
“What would you like people to say about your funeral and your legacy?”

It was wonderful to meet other local businesses and to continue giving our time to support our community. 💜

On 20 October 2025, we observe World Osteoporosis Day — a day to raise awareness of a silent disease that affects millions worldwide.

The 2025 theme, “It’s Unacceptable!”, calls us all to action: it is unacceptable that so many remain undiagnosed or untreated.

At Wisbech Funeral Service, we recognise the importance of health, dignity, and prevention. Today, we honour those who have been impacted by fractures, frailty, and loss — and we stand in solidarity with efforts to promote bone health, support early diagnosis, and ensure people receive the care they deserve.

Let’s support one another: encourage loved ones to know their bone health, speak openly about risk, and act early. Because prevention, compassion, and awareness save lives.

🌟 Light up a Life 2025 🌟

We’re honoured to be sponsoring this year’s Light up a Life service in Wisbech, a special event held by Arthur Rank Hospice Charity to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones no longer with us.

📍 Wisbech Service
🗓 Saturday 6 December
🕓 4:00pm
📌 St Peter’s & St Paul’s Parish Church, Wisbech

All are welcome to this beautiful service featuring carols, poetry & music.

This year’s Light up a Life services will be taking place as follows:

📍At the Hospice in Cambridge – Saturday 29 November at 4.30pm. This event is kindly sponsored by Redmayne Arnold & Harris and Barr Ellison Law
📍At St Peter’s & St Paul’s Parish Church, Wisbech – Saturday 6 December at 4pm. This event is kindly sponsored by Wisbech Funeral Service

Both services are free to attend and will feature carols, poetry, and music, and it is a time and space where you can take a moment to pause and reflect on the love and memories you have of those who have died and who still live on in your heart and mind.💚

🕯️ Global Wave of Light 2025🕯️

Tonight, we join families across the world in lighting a candle at 7pm to remember all the babies gone too soon. Each light shines in loving memory - together forming a global wave of love, reflection, and remembrance. 💛

We invite you to take part:
✨ Light a candle at 7pm
✨ Take a photo of your candle
✨ Share it in the comments below, or tag us in your post so we can honour these precious memories together.

Though every story is unique, no one grieves alone. Tonight, we remember - and we shine a light together. 🕯️💫

World Hospice & Palliative Care Day🕯️

This year’s theme is “Achieving the Promise: Universal Access to Palliative Care.”

At Wisbech Funeral Service, we recognise that dignified end-of-life care isn’t only about what happens at the very end - it is about compassion, respect, and support for everyone involved: the person, their family, and their community.

On this day, we wish to:

Honour the tireless work of hospice and palliative care professionals, volunteers, and carers who bring comfort, relief, and presence in deeply challenging circumstances.

Raise awareness that palliative care should not be a privilege, but a right — accessible to all, regardless of where they live or their means.

Encourage conversations in our community about end-of-life wishes, support networks, and preparing for the time when help is needed most.

If you or someone you know has experience of hospice or palliative care, your story matters. Sharing it can shine a light on the importance of connection, empathy, and dignity. Together, we can help ensure no one faces serious illness or dying alone or in avoidable suffering.

We stand with all those who are providing compassionate care in their final days — and with families navigating this path. 🕯️

💗 Baby Loss Awareness Week 2025 💗

At Wisbech Funeral Service, we pause to reflect, remember, and stand alongside families who have experienced the heart-breaking loss of a baby.

🕊️ This week is about:

Honouring the memory of little ones gone too soon
Supporting parents and families in their grief
Raising awareness to help break the silence around baby loss

On 15th October at 7pm, we will join the global Wave of Light by lighting a candle in remembrance. We invite you to do the same — together, our lights shine in memory and solidarity. ✨

You are not alone. 💜

Light a candle in memory, share your photo, and tag us to join together in remembrance this Baby Loss Awareness Week.
