Welcome Kayleigh – Our Associate Podiatrist 👣💙

We’re delighted to officially welcome Kayleigh as an Associate Podiatrist here at Boo & Harvey.

With 13 years’ experience in the Royal Air Force as both a Physical Training Instructor and Joint Service Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor, Kayleigh brings an exceptional depth of knowledge in movement, recovery and health.

After leaving the RAF, she achieved a 1st Class Degree in Podiatry from the University of Northampton, and has a strong clinical interest in:
• Biomechanics & gait analysis
• Sports injury rehab
• Innovative treatments for pain & performance
• Minor podiatric surgery

Her approach is all about accurate assessment, active recovery, and tailored treatment that helps every patient move more comfortably and confidently.

Outside the clinic, Kayleigh is a dedicated mum of three energetic boys and passionate about fitness and sport. She has also represented the RAF in swimming and various team sports.

Kayleigh has been part of Boo & Harvey for over a year, and we are thrilled to now have her as a core part of our Associate team as we continue to grow.

Fungal or Trauma? 👣 Let’s Break It Down.

Not every yellow or discoloured toenail is a fungal infection.

A true fungal nail usually looks like this:

The nail becomes thick
The texture turns crumbly or flaky
The discolouration spreads over time
And the nail can start to change shape

But sometimes it’s not fungal at all, it’s pressure trauma.

Pressure trauma nails are typically:

Still smooth and intact
Discolouration stays in one area
Often caused by the second toe pressing into the big toe
Or by tight shoes and socks creating constant pressure

The good news?
Pressure trauma grows out naturally once the pressure is reduced.

No antifungal treatment needed, just better footwear choices, spacing the toes if needed, and regular nail care.
