PATIENT INFORMATION:
The pathology department located at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, which tests blood and other samples from GP practices across Norfolk and Waveney, has been experiencing delays since 29th July 2025, due to a change in IT system. Systems are now fully up and running. However, disruption caused by the digital switch-over is leading to delayed reporting of some non-urgent results to GP practices.

If you are waiting for the results of a test you have had, you may have to wait longer than normal for this to be reported. Please bear this in mind if chasing routine samples but do contact the practice if you have an urgent or worsening problem.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by these delays. The pathology and IT teams are working hard to rectify the issues and deal with the backlog of testing.

Weight Loss injections

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) – Who Can Get It on the NHS?

We've had many questions about Mounjaro, the new weight loss injection. Here's what you need to know.

Mounjaro is currently only available on the NHS for a small group of patients, under strict criteria:

You must:
Be 18 or over
Have a BMI of 40+, or 37.5+ if you’re from a Black, Asian or other minority ethnic background
AND
Have 4 or more weight-related health conditions (e.g. type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnoea, heart disease)

It's initially being prescribed by specialist hospital clinics and will be rolled out in gradual stages to GPs from late June 2025 onwards – but only for people who meet the above criteria. Please see the following link: https://improvinglivesnw.org.uk/our-work/healthier-communities/medicines/tirzepatide-frequently-asked-questions/

It is not available for general weight loss or cosmetic reasons, even if you're willing to pay privately.

Support is available - if you're looking for help managing your weight, and don't qualify for Mounjaro, check out the “Other support for losing weight” on the webpage inserted above.

Thank you for helping us keep our lines clear for those who need medical care.

Many thanks

New Menopause Clinic with Kerry Page

From mid-40's onwards, some ladies may develop concerns that could be associated with peri/menopause. There are over 30 symptoms that can be associated with this time.

I have a special interest in the menopause and can offer person centred advice, tailored to your individual needs. We are all individual and experience our menopause differently!

This can include general advice, non-medication options as well as hormone replacement therapy and non-hormone treatment.

Please contact the surgery on 01945 880471 to book your appointment.
