Today, we had the honour of leading a truly special farewell for a much-loved gentleman from our community.
A passionate banger racing enthusiast, his love for the track was a huge part of his life. In a fitting tribute to his hobby, his final journey was made even more personal as a lorry used to transport banger racing cars was chosen to carry him to his funeral service.
He was also a devoted Manchester United fan, and this was reflected in the smallest but most meaningful details. Our funeral director and bearer team wore red ties, while family and friends paid tribute by wearing Manchester United badges that they had designed, creating a touching and united show of respect.
From the moment the funeral arrangements were discussed, it was clear this would be a truly personal and meaningful farewell.
Family and friends came together to honour a man whose love for banger racing, football, and his strong character left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
His farewell reflected the energy, determination, and character that defined him. The presence of the lorry, alongside the sea of red, created a powerful and personal tribute, a true reflection of the life he lived and the passions he held close.
