It’s Day 2 of A Very Merry Maple Christmas, and today’s door is all about spine mobility! 🎁✨
Your spine shouldn’t twist like a candy cane… unless it’s mobility day — in which case, twist away (gently!).
Swipe to see our CA Caity show you three simple rotation stretches that help keep the whole spine moving smoothly:
🍬 1. Seated Twist
• Sit tall on a chair.
• Place one hand on the opposite cheek.
• Gently allow your hand to rotate your head toward the back of the chair.
• Hold 10–15 seconds each side.
Perfect for anyone who sits all day!
🍬 2. Thread the Needle Stretch (great for mid-back stiffness)
• Begin on your hands and knees: Arms below shoulders and knees below hips.
• Place weight on one hand and with the other, reach towards the ceiling, letting your upper body rotate.
• Thread your top arm underneath your chest, allowing your shoulder and head to come towards the floor.
• Hold 15-20 seconds each side.
Feels SO good after a long day.
🍬 3. Supine Knee Drop Rotations (targets low back + pelvis)
• Lie on your back with your legs extended.
• Bend one knee and lift it up, crossing over your body, towards the opposite side.
• Keep your shoulder flat on the floor whist your opposite arm holds the crossed leg for a greater stretch.
• Hold for 20–30 seconds each side
• Only go as far as feels comfortable.
A gentle reset for your lower spine.
Keep your spine happy and your holiday stress a little lighter.
