I've got a shiny new couch! It was time to retire my trusty old massage table in favour of a new model ✨

This one is lighter weight which is a must because I carry it around so much, but wonderfully sturdy!

Looking forward to trying it out with my next client 🤰

Thank you for your patience! My phone is fully up and running once again and I'm ready for your calls!

Did you know there are techniques you can do to help your baby get into an optimal position ready for birth?

Biomechanics techniques are useful for every pregnant person, but can be particularly beneficial if;

🔸Your baby is not in a 'head-down' position
🔸Your baby is in a 'back to back' position
🔸You are experiencing pain around your pelvis, back or upper legs
🔸You want to promote 'engagement' of your baby's head in the pelvis

These are just a few things that biomechanics can help resolve. I often use biomechanics during my treatments with clients to help them achieve less pain, and promote a comfortable birth.

If you want to know more about biomechanics, treatments to turn a breech baby, or birth preparation treatments, get on touch 🙂

Happy IDM to all my Midwife friends!

I feel so privileged to be a midwife and be a part of people's journey into parenthood 🤰🏻🤱🏻

I often get asked the best ways to prepare for birth, so thought I'd share a few of the tried and tested things I did personally and found helpful.

Perineal massage - reduces the risk of significant tearing during birth and helps increase blood supply to the area.

Colostrum harvesting - this helps you to learn the important skill of hand expressing, allows you to store some colostrum in the freezer ready for your baby, and can even help get labour going!

Biomechanics - doing biomechanics exercises and manoeuvres in late pregnancy helps your baby to engage in a good position in your pelvis and can reduce pain around your back, hips and pelvis.

Relaxation - this is essential for all of us but especially valuable when preparing for birth. Relaxation helps balance your body and mind, promote hormonal balance and is really good practice for when you need to draw on this skill during labour.

What did you do to prepare for your birth? I'd love to hear about what you found helpful.

Client reviews are so valuable to me. It means so much to get feedback on my services and to know I'm making a difference, and most of my clients come to me through word of mouth so it really means the world. Thank you for this lovely review 💕

I've been quiet on here for a while now, but wanted to share some big news!

In January we became new parents again to our second baby girl. We've been loving our baby bubble and our eldest daughter absolutely loves being a big sister ❤️

We're all really well and enjoying being a family of four 🥰

Last week was a pretty busy one for me. I did antenatal and postnatal care, attended a labour, facilitated group classes and some complementary therapies. I love the variety in my working week, and enjoy all aspects equally.

If you're interested in any of the services I offer, or would like to know more then get in touch, I'd love to chat with you 🥰

Flourish has been up and running for over a year now and I am so happy I pursued my ambitions and got my diploma in complementary therapies. I've had the pleasure of caring for so many expectant mothers treating ailments and giving midwifery support.

I am always a midwife first, and pride myself on holistic care so I am thrilled to have added this skill set to my practice 🩷

Thank you for the lovely Mummy-to-be who kindly agreed to this photo during one of her treatments 🥰
