PROCUREMENT
Meeting the demands of manufacturing up to the minute complex products is crucial to our success. Managing this diverse range of technologies is challenging. Working closely with our supply partners we ensure the correct parts arrive at CSIEMS on time and to specification.
To meet this challenge our experienced procurement professionals have a wide range of specialist knowledge in both domestic and global markets, this know-how and our supplier relationships are paramount to ensuring we achieve our customers’ and our own expectations.
At CSIEMS we utilise the latest integrated manufacturing system from 123 Insight tailored to meet our needs, our ERP/MRP system provides us with real time, accurate and complete information enabling us to make timely informed decisions.
SURFACE MOUNT PCB ASSEMBLY
Our surface mount facility enables us to
populate a wide variety of single and double sided assemblies at high speed and with exacting precision.
Comprising of 8 individual high performance Juki pick and place machines, our three surface mount lines, provide huge capacity and flexibility. We have over 1000 component feeders, laser centering and advanced vision recognition which ables to accurately place all currently available packages from 01005 up to 54mm square.
CONVENTIONAL & MIXED TECHNOLOGY
Not all printed circuit board assemblies are surface mount technology, very few printed circuit board assemblies are entirely surface mount. We manufacture both exclusively through hole and mixed technology PCBA's for a broad range of applications.
Our skilled operators are trained to the highest standards in hand soldering and fully understand the complexities of conventional through hole assembly and are trained to IPC610.
To ensure regulatory compliance we have separate leaded and lead-free flow solder machines enabling our processes to be as efficient as possible..
CABLE HARNESSES
WIRING & ASSEMBLY
Most products require an interconnect , therefore complimenting our printed circuit board assembly and Box build capabilities, we have cable assembly and harness manufacture as an integral part of our business.
CSIEMS manufacture a diverse range of custom cables and assemblies to our customers’ specifications, ranging from simple cut, strip & tin discreet wires and cables to producing complex harnesses and looms.
We are experienced in producing IDC Ribbon cables, crimp and wire to board connectors, Coax cables for radio and networking, Data communications, automotive cables, box and panel assemblies.
PROTOTYPES & FAST TURN
CSIEMS offer both fast and standard turnaround prototype PCB assembly, we have no minimum order quantity and have the capability to place all surface mount and through hole components.
• No minimum quantity
• Thru-hole, SMT, and mixed technology assembly
• No-clean process
• Single and double sided SMT
• Leaded and lead-free solders
• Single or double sided BGA placement
• Chips down to 1005 size
• Components up to 54mm sq,
• Leadless Chip Carriers/CSP/QFN/POP

BOX BUILD
Wherever possible it is our aim to provide a fully integrated turnkey solution, at CSIEMS we are multi-disciplined and have the skill set to build our customers complete finished product ready to ship to market. We are experienced at using and specifying Plastic mouldings, Sheet metal Enclosures and castings.
We can assemble complex mechanical systems with embedded electronics and then functionally test them. We provide a fast efficient "one stop shop" bringing all of the individual elements of the product together whether manufactured by CSIEMS or a partner.
SMT & BGA
REPAIR AND REWORK
As a consequence of being an EMS provider we must have the personnel the skill-set and investment in advanced equipment and training to be able to repair and rectify any faults that might occur.
CSIEMS offer a dedicated small batch rework, repair and modification service for faulty PCBA’s and assemblies. Our highly trained rework operators can rework and repair Surface mount faults from simple replacement of SMT chip devices to complex QFP, QFN, BGA removal and replacement,
We can also offer thru hole component removal and replacement and pad and track PCB repairs.
TEST
The skilled engineers at our fully equipped test facility have considerable experience in product testing, fault finding and hardware test design. We have a wide variety of test equipment from simple high voltage flash testing to ATE in circuit testing to fully functional program and custom test fixtures and enclosures, We have the ability to cater for a wide range of customer needs Including intermediate and end of line testing.
Ensuring confidence that the products built at CSIEMS meet customers specification and performance expectations.
We are able to provide complete turnkey test systems for your products or use your existing systems and set up. Our test facility is staffed by experienced test engineers who will test your product using a comprehensive and up-to-date range of equipment.

LED LIGHTING
Lighting is a significant and strategic part of our business; we are an established manufacturer of LED lighting with considerable experience in both the automotive, medical and commercial lighting arenas.
We are well placed to cope with the recent growth in the use of LED and solid state lighting. We currently place approximately 250.000 LED’s per month and our expectation is for the number to increase considerably, When specifying our recently acquired Juki surface mount machines we ensured that they have the ability to accommodate the longest boards.
We have the capability to place all flat and dome packages at high speed increasing the control speed electronics that are placed on the same PCBA as the LED’s. At CSIEMS we have extensive experience of meeting the challenges that this presents.
SUPPLY CHAIN
By definition our supply chain is all activities involved within the supply of parts and components, our manufacturing process and the safe delivery of the finished product to our customers. As with all other aspects of our business we believe that precision and co-ordination is key to a robust effective and reliable supply chain.
We continually co-ordinate and collaborate with both our customers and our suppliers to enable us to provide security of supply, avoiding any nasty surprises.

‣ Minimise inventory
‣ Reduce time to market
‣ Operate flexibly to cope with changes in demand
‣ Reduce costs
‣ Eliminate the effects of component obsolescence
NPI - NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
All of our customers products undergo our NPI process as close to commencement as possible, we consider and evaluate the design, the manufacturability and viability of the product,
We consider and advise our customers with PCB layout, mechanical assembly and all manufacturing aspects of the product. We use established DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFT (Design for Test) methodology and tools to ensure the product is produced efficiently, economically and consistently giving our customers best value, excellent quality and on-time products.

X-RAY
More and more PCB assemblies are using components with hidden solder joints (such as BGA’s), making inspection more complex. To confirm that these components have soldered correctly during the reflow process, CSIEMS have an on-site X-Ray system allowing us to inspect, review, catalogue and save images.
MICROSCOPES
To enhance our automated inspection capabilities and allow us to inspect all aspects of the assemblies we produce, we have a range of optical inspection systems at our disposal including:
• ErsaScope Optical BGA Inspection System
• Vision system 7 rotating microscope
• Vision systems Mantis
• Vision Systems Linx
• Quinns digital comparator
• LED Illuminated magnifiers at all workstations
ANALYSIS
As part of our commitment to ongoing continuous improvement, CSIEMS actively examine data entered via our ERP system and AOI systems to establish trends, proactively improve quality and ensure that all processes are carried out efficiently.
Our Quality Department are fully versed in DPMO and PPM analysis and use these tools in conjunction with machine provided data to ensure that our processes are continuously evolving.
AOI
As technology evolves PCB assemblies and components become smaller and more complex, the need for AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) has become a necessity. At CSIEMS the AOI systems provide us with precise, reliable and repeatable ways to check all aspects of an assembly.
Our AOI machines have the capability of inspecting a vast range of parts, from 01005 chips to complex highly integrated packages, using multiple cameras, variable lighting stages, optical character recognition for identifying components, solder inspection and the recording of serial numbers, enabling yield analysis and confirming products are of the highest quality.
Utilising a wealth of experience Our IPC-A-610 trained Inspection team ensure the highest standards of inspection.
INSPECTION
