Better Sleep
While the exact amount of sleep needed varies from person to person, generally speaking the average adult needs 7-9 hours of good quality sleep. The amount does tend to reduce as we get older.
There are 4 different phases to the sleep cycle which are characterised by events such as rapid eye movement (REM), decreased heart rate and respiration, brain activity and dreaming.
The Use of Reflexology to help support better sleep
There have been several research studies looking at the effectiveness of reflexology on sleep in a variety of groups including post-natal mums, the elderly and those with breast cancer. In all of the studies reflexology has been shown to make a difference to the sleep process.
