🌿 A Personal and Beautiful Farewell 🌿

We recently had the honour of conducting the funeral for a truly much-loved lady. The truly stunning Gorton Monastery served as the perfect setting for her farewell, a venue as elegant and full of presence as she was.

With a theme of teal woven throughout the day, every detail reflected her bright, vibrant personality. The family chose a stunning white horse-drawn carriage and our bespoke handmade resting bed, creating a farewell that was both deeply personal and unforgettable.

The Monastery was filled to the brim with those who loved her, sharing stories filled with laughter, admiration and cherished memories, all under the warmth of the summer sun.

A life well lived. A farewell full of love. 💙

✂️ Zoe & Leyton are Braving the Shave! ✂️

On Friday 26th September, during our Macmillan Coffee Morning at YOLO, Zoe and Leyton will be taking part in Brave the Shave to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support 💚

We’re looking for a local barber to help us on the day, if you can lend your skills for this fantastic cause, please contact us directly.

Thousands of incredible people take part in Brave the Shave each year, making a bold statement to help Macmillan support people living with cancer. Whatever your reason, whoever you do it for every shave makes a difference.

Recently, YOLO, together with our Funeral Director Zoe, had the honour and privilege of supporting 24 families as they laid their loved ones to rest.

These incredible individuals made the selfless decision to bequeath their bodies to Manchester University for medical science leaving behind a legacy that will educate, heal and inspire generations to come.

We are humbled to have walked alongside their families during such a meaningful time. Their generosity is a gift to the future and we honour them with deep respect and gratitude. 💜

You’re not alone in that.

Whether it's a quiet moment that catches you off guard, an empty seat on a trip, or a tradition that now feels heavy — grief can feel even sharper when the world seems full of sunshine.

Here are some gentle reminders for this season:
