At YOLO Funeral Services, our Memorial Tree is here for anyone who would like a quiet moment to remember someone they love. Whether it’s a mum, grandmother, or mother-figure, you are welcome to pop in, write a message and hang a note on the tree in their memory.

The tree remains in place all year round, offering a space for reflection, remembrance and love. With Mother’s Day approaching, we gently invite anyone who wishes to leave a thought or message for someone special.

Throughout the year, we proudly support Francis House Children’s Hospice, our chosen charity here at YOLO Funeral Services.

As we have done for many years, we are helping raise funds for the hospice by selling these adorable hand-knitted chicks and bunnies, each one filled with a delicious Cadbury’s Creme Egg.

Francis House provides a home-from-home environment offering specialist care, respite and emotional support for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions, as well as support for their families across Greater Manchester. Their work helps hundreds of families each year live every moment to the fullest while receiving compassionate care and guidance.

It was an honour to recently conduct the funeral of a well-known and much-loved lady from our Withington community.

Her service was beautifully personal, with bespoke order of services, yellow and white floral tributes and single yellow stemmed roses placed during a moving reflection piece of music.

It felt only fitting that the wake was held where she had worked for many years, pulling countless pints, sharing laughter and stories, and becoming part of so many people’s lives.

In her memory, donations were also made to the local Withington foodbank, a true reflection of her generous spirit and love for her community.

Moments like these remind us how deeply rooted someone can be in the heart of a community.

Recently, we had the honour of conducting the funeral for a well-known and much-loved lady from our community in Didsbury.

True to her gentle nature, the service was simple and heartfelt, just as she would have wanted. A hearse-only arrival, meeting her family at Manchester Crematorium, keeping everything understated because she never liked a fuss… she simply appreciated the quieter things in life.

Her love of pink and purple was beautifully reflected in the soft purple lighting within the chapel, creating a calm and fitting tribute. As a final thoughtful touch, her family gifted potted plants to those who attended, a perfect way to honour a lady who adored her plants and found joy in nurturing life.

A simple farewell. A meaningful goodbye. A life remembered with love.

We recently had the honour of conducting the funeral service for a very much-loved lady whose care for the environment was reflected beautifully in her final wishes.

Being conscious of sustainability, our Pandanus Eco2 resting bed was the perfect choice for her final journey. Paired with a stunning woodland style floral tribute made entirely from wild flowers and with no plastic oasis base, it created a natural and meaningful farewell.

Pandanus grows abundantly in South East Asia and Australia. It is a fast-growing, highly renewable material, with only young leaves cut to allow the plant to regenerate naturally. It requires less water, no pesticides, and offers a sustainable alternative to wood helping to reduce deforestation and its impact on climate change.

Our Pandanus coffins are manufactured in Indonesia within World Fair Trade Organisation accredited workshops, ensuring ethical production alongside environmental responsibility.
