The reality of motherhood isn’t always the pink and fluffy vision with bunches of daffodils and carrot cake…. Yes, there might be occasional moments of this bliss, but the rawness of reality is often overlooked.
It’s the challenges of birthing a whole being, the sleepless nights with little ones, the ni**le soreness of breast feeding. It’s the cleaning up of sick from the fabric in your car, the constant meal planning and ensuring school uniforms are ready to go!
There’s hours of standing in the rain watching matches, taxi driver duties, nose wiping, being the most awkwardly embarrassing person in the world (in the eyes of your child)…
And that’s only the two legged kids! Then we have dogs, cats and whatever other shape your fur kids come in 😆 poo clearing, eye bo**er wiping and accepting kisses mixed with drool and remnants of dinner.
Motherhood really isn’t glamorous. However, it grows within us a love so deep and unconditional that we love and relish all of the above 🫣😂🙄 yes, you heard me! I said I love being this person. And the realisation of how much I love this hits the hardest when they are not there. When they don’t need me to do this anymore.
So next time you’re the taxi, the cleaner, the ear to bend with the frustrations of their day, when you’re late to your appointment because they needed a little more time, in that moment, just know how precious the moment really is.
And when they’re a little further away, passed away or following their own path, know that you love them enough to let them go 💖 loving without attachment is the deepest unconditional love ✨
That’s a rather long post just to express the feeling of loving without attachment.
Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, however you’re feeling, know that I love you too 💫💖💙💋 exactly as you are ✨
