We all learn as we navigate the journey of our life and this morning, I learned that I am not in fact the Chinese year of the Horse at all! I was born just a few days before the Earth Horse, which makes me a Fire Snake!!! 🤯😵‍💫🧐 all I thought I knew about myself was thrown, in that moment, into a pot of unanswered questions 😵‍💫 who am I?!?! I’m not who I thought I was!!!!!

Then I pulled myself together 🙄 and in my usual questioning way, began to research 🧐

What did I find? This; In Chinese astrology, the Fire Snake is one of the most intense, charismatic, and driven combinations within the 12-year zodiac cycle.

Well that explains a little…😆🤣🥴

Then it hit me!!!!

“Hang on. My association of myself to the horse is and has always been there as the horse is one of my spirit guides, but whether I knew it or not, the Fire Snake has always been there and ‘knowing’ this actually makes no difference!

We are each our own unique selves and we each navigate in the best way we know, regardless of labels.

However, holding a gentle background awareness of ourselves can help us to have more compassion for ourselves and that awareness can aid us in accepting our human flaws, quirks, challenges….

Do you take time to notice….? Whatever you’re doing in your day, wherever your thoughts are, do you notice the little things that make you pause and think ‘wow, that’s awesome’? As I’m doing a hurried job of fencing the field for sheep, against the clock before preparing for a client, wondering if I’ll get it all done in time!!! I glanced up to witness this brief moment of awesomeness in the sky above me. And as I type now, the clouds have moved and the sun is shining warmly. Gratitude. That’s what hits me. And yes, there’s time. I just needed that moment to pause and feel grateful for that moment 🥰

It seems surreal…. The rawness of nature….. The beauty of the elements all here in one image….. and the smallness of the 3 beings walking amongst it all in quiet awe.

As one of those 3, I am incredibly grateful to be alive in this moment.

What does Halloween mean to you?

🎃👻🧙💫💙🌟🦋💖

To me, it’s not the commercialised trick n treating or the mountains of sweets and plastic novelties….

To me, it’s a celebration of our ancestors. A time when the veil between living souls and souls in spirit is at its thinnest, making it the easiest time to connect with our loved ones over the bridge 💓💖💓 it’s a time it’s a time for light hearted silliness, giggles, feasting and to celebrate being a modern day witch and connect with my amazing circle of witchy friends! And yes, there are MANY of us!!!

To some, the word witch conjures up scary connotations of demons and devil worship…. But in reality, the word witch comes from the old word Wicce which means Wise person.

We are folk who study the seasons, the cycles of the moon, the healing properties of plants, we connect with trees, the 4 elements and our beautiful earth!!!

We feel, see and hear energy and embrace that gift for the good of those who are ready to receive it. We are light workers, light walkers, mediums. We are kind, loving, open hearted huggers. We are feeders 😆 nourishers of body and soul. We are mindful and present.

Today, I invite you to explore your own inner witchy ways and celebrate the many gifts each of us uniquely holds and not to fear judgement or misinformation.

There are many of us who do 👋🏻😀💓 but yes, the world needs more of us!!!! Interestingly though, I am discovering that the more I talk to random folk about this stuff, the more I discover that they’re with it, but in secret because they don’t think others will accept it as ‘normal’ behaviour!!!

What’s normal?!?!

Our ancestors celebrated the moon, the sun, the stars, the water, the earth, the fire, every crop & harvest, every waypoint on the wheel of the year…. They didn’t celebrate trendy trainers or botox! They celebrated in song, in circle and in commUnity 💓💫🌟
