We are looking for someone to join our team at the Windrush Medical Practice as a GP Assistant Administrator.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong medical administrator to join the Windrush Medical Practice team as a GP Assistant in a small multi-skilled team. The GP Assistant team work closely with the GPs helping patients navigate the pathway through NHS services.

The role of GP Assistant will be to support the GP and wider clinical teams to ensure the smooth running of clinics by performing the complex administration tasks and patient liaison required for ongoing and exemplary patient care.

We are looking for someone to join us for up to 37 hours per week on a competitive salary.

✨Windrush Family Recipes book for sale!✨

The staff of the Windrush Medical Practice have lovingly created the “Windrush Family Recipes” cookbook in memory of our dear colleague May and to raise money for Silver Star.

All of the recipes are from our lovely staff and there are some really cracking home recipes to try out inside!

Please ask our reception staff if you would like a copy and card payment can be taken at our dispensary. All recipe books are £7.50 each.

👉Cervical screening recall has changed

The National Cervical Screening programme has made changes to the standard recall period for cervical smears.

For all smears taken on or after the 1st July 2025, the standard recall time will be 5 years rather than 3 years, as it had previously been for some age groups.

There are some variations to this dependent on the results of the sample. This will be explained in the patient result letter that you will receive after your test.

Over £10,000 raised for Silver Star! 🤩💗

Thank you to everyone for your kind donations to Silver Star in honour of our dear friend and colleague May McCrea, who sadly passed last year. We have just hit £10,000 raised and we are overwhelmed by your generosity.

A huge congratulations to Dani, Hattie, and Alex for completing the London Marathon at the end of April in memory of May and for fundraising for Silver Star. The money you raised during this time will benefit so many people. You all did so well – we are very proud.
