🦠 Stay Safe This Flu Season – Protect Yourself and Others

Flu spreads easily, especially in crowded places, and can be serious for vulnerable people. You can help stop the spread by following these simple steps:

1. Get vaccinated if you are eligible 💉

The flu vaccine is the most effective way to protect yourself and those around you, especially older adults, people with long-term health conditions, pregnant women, and young children.

2. Practice good hygiene 🧼

Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, or use hand sanitizer if soap isn’t available. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing. Dispose of tissues immediately.

3. Stay home if you’re unwell 🏠

If you have flu-like symptoms, avoid contact with others. Rest, drink plenty of fluids, and take care of yourself. If you need to attend the surgery while feeling unwell, please wear a mask.

Together, these steps reduce the spread of flu and help protect the most vulnerable members of our community.

📅 This Remembrance Day, we stand proud as a Veteran Friendly Accredited GP Practice, dedicated to supporting our veteran community🪖🌺

We know this time of year can be especially challenging for many veterans, and we want you to know that we’re here for you.

As a Veteran Friendly Accredited practice, our team recognises the importance of identifying veteran patients and understands the unique health needs that veterans may have.

On Tuesday 11th November 2025 at 11:00am the practice will observe a two-minute silence to mark Remembrance Day. This act of reflection honours the courage, service, and sacrifice of all those who have served in the Armed Forces and those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

Important Update REMINDER - We’re Moving to AccuRx for Online Consultations 📢

We’re excited to let you know that from 6th October 2025, we’ll be switching our online consultation system from Engage to AccuRx.

AccuRx is a secure, NHS-approved platform already widely used across the NHS. It makes it easy for GP's and patients to communicate through simple forms and two-way messaging, just like Engage, but with even more flexibility.

👉 What’s Changing for You

If you already use the NHS App: Nothing changes! You can continue to submit requests and receive responses exactly as before.

If you currently use the Engage App to submit online consultations, please use:

• The AccuRx link on our website
or
• The NHS App (if you have it installed).

👉 Need Help Getting Started?

Join us at our drop-in support sessions during the Saturday flu clinics:

• Saturday 11th October 2025
• Saturday 8th November 2025

Our team will be on hand to walk you through the system, give live demonstrations, and answer any questions.

We know switching from Engage may feel like a big change, but don’t worry, AccuRx is safe, simple, and built to work seamlessly with the NHS App. With our drop-in support sessions, we’ll make sure you’re confident using it in no time.
