We offer trials and free pop-ins because we know starting something new can be scary. We even have a cosy corner for parents and carers to stay because sometimes new things need a gentle, slow start. All our sessions are gently led by experienced therapeutic teachers. We just love bringing the joy of creativity to all the young people who join us at The Nook.

🎭 🏫 🏡

Masking at school is so common for children with autism or/and adhd… it becomes the norm to ‘fit’ in 💜

Often we see them fall apart at home, as we are their safe person and home is their safe place 💜

This is why schools don’t always see what we see & why late diagnosis are very common… occasionally schools choose not to see it due to many reasons… often in younger children as it presents as ‘normal’ development… until the gap widens and it becomes very obvious, they need additional support… others will ‘slip through the net’ as they say at this point too… you know your child best 💖 ✨

We have a wonderful group of older teenage girls who meet every Tuesday at The Nook. It’s a very small group, gently guided by Hannah, our therapeutic art teacher, and planned by Sarah, our apprentice
They have a lot of fun and their creations are wonderful!
We only have a couple of spaces left for this term so do get in touch if you’re interested!

Is your child on the long list to be seen by camhs?

Have you heard of right to choose?

Right to choose is a great option if you want to speed things, up-especially if your child is older, such as in secondary school.

You can ask your family doctor to be referred through this option. They will either choose a provider or give you the option to choose.

The providers are based around the uk, usually done over zoom or similar.

They observe your child on zoom in real time.

Depending on your child some can do face to face.

The process is a lot quicker than 7 years on the chams waiting list 💜
