Losing the person I love left a hole in my life.

A hole that time, in fact, will never heal.

But I’ve learned to live around the hole.

It's still there, and I teeter on the edge for balance.

Very consciously avoiding it.

I’ve learned to navigate around the hole.

Day by day it becomes more natural.

With a huge leap, I can jump over it.

But some days, I still fall in the hole.

I’ve just got better at lifting myself out.

The hole has become a part of my life.

It represents the person I lost.

It's not a beautiful hole…but it’s mine.

Our thoughts go out to the families, friends and colleagues of the firefighters and member of the public who sadly and unexpectedly lost their lives last night.

We would like to extend our wishes to the injured firefighters currently in hospital and wish them a speedy recovery.

The emergency services bravery is invaluable and really don’t appreciate what they sacrifice. From everyone at Peter Smith & Son, thank you for all that you do to keep us safe!
