Prescriptions

We have a dedicated prescription line available Monday to Friday 9am -1pm for prescription queries. The telephone number is ☎️ 01206 986397

The prescription clerks will happily answer your call and assist you with your query. Please note we do not accept prescription requests over the telephone, they can be submitted via the NHS App, Anima, patient letter request, ticking your white prescription list and dropping it into the practice or by emailing to Wivenhoe.surgery@nhs.net

We require 2 working days to process your prescription (it will take longer for the pharmacy to prepare them ready for your collection).

If you need to check the progress of your request with the surgery, you can do this by checking in the NHS App in the first instance, call the pharmacy or call the prescription line.

⚠️ Product recall: SMA Infant Formula and Follow-On Formula

Nestlé is recalling several SMA Infant Formula and Follow-On Formula products as a precaution due to the possible presence of cereulide toxin.

Cereulide can cause rapid onset of nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps. It’s unlikely to be destroyed by boiling water or cooking.

Even if your baby seems well, it is essential to stop using affected products. If the formula was prescribed by a health professional, consult a pharmacist or other medical professional before changing formula.

For a full list of affected batches and what to do next, visit: https://www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/alert/fsa-prin-02-2026
