Yesterday we celebrated Diwali with colourful origami lanterns, beautiful rangoli designs, and a joyful atmosphere filled with light and laughter. 🌸
The room was glowing with colourful decorations and stunning handcrafted rangoli – symbolize prosperity and good luck, welcoming the goddess Lakshmi. 🌸🌼

At tea time, we enjoyed the story of Diwali along with a Taste of India 🇮🇳 — delicious samosas, poppadoms, and a variety of tasty snacks with mango chutney dips. Yum! 😋 Celebrate

🎉 Crowning Culinary Excellence! 👨‍🍳✨

A huge congratulations to Simon Boyden from Knowle Park in Cranleigh, who has been crowned Aria Care’s Chef of the Year 2025! 🏆

In the thrilling final at Brakes’ innovation centre in Reading, six talented chefs went head-to-head, but it was Simon’s incredible menu, including a standout pan-fried hake with a spinach and brie cream sauce and a seasonal pumpkin millefeuille, that wowed the judges.

👏 “Simon’s creativity, attention to detail, and understanding of our residents’ needs truly stood out,” said James Clear, Aria’s Hospitality Director.

This annual competition celebrates the passion and care our chefs bring to every dish, making mealtimes truly special for our residents. 🍽️

Every Tuesday, our Poem Club gathers to explore the lives and works of great poets, share readings, and enjoy a bit of creative writing together.
This year, we were truly honoured to celebrate National Poetry Day UK (held on the first Thursday of October) with the wonderful Surrey Community Poetry Group. Their joyful readings filled the room with inspiration — and a special highlight was the lovely Lesley sang “There Are Fairies at the Bottom of Our Garden!" With such a Beautiful melody🍂🍄 It was an unforgettable and heartwarming — thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the magic of poetry! 💖📖

As we look ahead to the Love Laundry Awards tomorrow, we want to take a moment to recognise some of the unsung heroes in care – our amazing housekeeping and laundry teams.

These incredible individuals work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure our homes are clean, comfortable, and safe, playing a vital role in infection control, dignity in care, and the everyday wellbeing of our residents.

We’re absolutely thrilled that Sharon from Belmont House and Paul, our Group Hospitality Manager, have been named as finalists in this year’s awards!

Yesterday afternoon we were truly blessed with beautiful sunshine and the joy of being outdoors at Coxhill Manor. Our residents spent a lovely time in the garden, planting winter pansies to bring colour and life to the season ahead.🌼

Alan has a real pair of helping hands and a heart of gold. Whether he’s sorting papers,folding napkins,feeding the fishes or even assembling our new table football game-Alan is always ready to leaned his skills.

But that’s not all… Alan also loves sharing what he’s learned over the years.He even teaches us how to do the Waltz .💃🕺
