Our residents at Princess Christian Care Home have recently been busy planting herb seeds in small pots, eager to watch them grow and thrive indoors. Although the tiny seeds are still hidden beneath the soil, there is already a sense of excitement as we all look forward to the first little green shoots appearing on our windowsills and tabletops. 🌱😃

This hands-on project has been a lovely way for our residents to connect and share the simple joy of gardening together. Caring for the pots day by day, they look forward to nurturing their seedlings into fragrant herbs such as basil, parsley, and mint. 🌿

It may be a simple project, but it has already brought plenty of conversation and connection - and of course, the promise of fresh flavours in the weeks ahead. 🙏💚

Our residents at Princess Christian Care Home were delighted last week when they welcomed a very special guest – Kevin, the Shetland pony. 🐴 With his gentle nature and charming presence, Kevin instantly won everyone over, bringing smiles and plenty of cuddles to our Home. Our residents loved the chance to pet and interact with him, and many shared fond memories of animals they had cared for in the past.🤗 The visit created a truly heartwarming atmosphere, with Kevin spreading happiness wherever he went. What a wonderful highlight to our week, lifting spirits and leaving everyone looking forward to his next visit! 🙌

Last week at Princess Christian Care Home, our residents enjoyed the soothing comfort of our spa whirlpool bath bath. These special sessions have quickly become a highlight, offering the perfect opportunity for relaxation and well-being. With gentle bubbles and calming music in the background, the atmosphere has been one of pure joy. 🫧😌

Our residents have loved taking time out for a peaceful soak, and it has been heartwarming to see their faces light up; Doreen even burst into song with a rendition of 'I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles', which had everyone smiling along. One of our team members commented, “It's so lovely to see our residents enjoying themselves – I really do have the best job ever!” 🤗

At Princess Christian, creating opportunities for our residents to feel pampered, uplifted and content is at the heart of everything we do. Our spa baths are just one of the many ways we help to bring happiness and well-being into everyday life at our Home. 🪷💜

Our residents at Princess Christian Care Home were delighted to welcome a group of team members and students from Dramatize, our local community centre, for a wonderful afternoon in our gardens 🏡. The visit began with a guided tour of our beautiful sensory gardens, led by our talented gardener. Our guests also enjoyed spending time in Pets Corner, where they had great fun meeting our friendly animals, especially the chickens, who were a big hit with everyone 🐓🐇. Afterwards, everyone gathered to enjoy a spread of delicious cakes and refreshing juices, before our residents happily presented our visitors with goodie bags as a small thank you for joining us 🙏. It was a lovely and we look forward to welcoming Dramatize back again soon. We were also very pleased to have a visit from Claire, a Community Outreach Advisor from RHS Wisley. Claire shared her enthusiasm for nature and is excited to work with us and other local teams to help celebrate and promote the glorious gardens and wildlife we have here at Princess Christian Care Home. 🦋

Our residents at Princess Christian Care Home recently enjoyed a vibrant 8️⃣0️⃣s-themed afternoon in our beautiful new garden ⛲️. The event was filled with music, colour, and laughter as everyone came together to celebrate the unforgettable decade. Our team members dressed the part in bright retro attire, complete with bold accessories, while the sounds of much-loved 80s hits filled the air. The music sparked plenty of smiles and memories, with our residents happily joining in the fun and reminiscing about days gone by. We were also delighted to welcome entertainer Johnny, who brought wonderful energy and kept spirits high throughout the afternoon 🎤🎶. His lively performance was a real highlight, encouraging singing, clapping, and plenty of dancing. Even when the weather took an unexpected turn—with a dramatic spell of thunder and lightning—it only added to the excitement of the occasion⚡️. Far from dampening the mood, it gave the day a unique twist, making the celebration even more memorable. It was a truly special afternoon for our residents, bringing joy, laughter, and a chance to relive some of their favourite memories from the 80s. We look forward to hosting many more themed events in our garden over the coming months. 😃

On Friday 15 August, our lovely resident Peggy was absolutely delighted to visit our spa at Princess Christian Care Home, where she enjoyed a relaxing pamper session with our Community Relations Manager Christine, and Well-being Manager Maria 🪷. Peggy was glowing afterwards and told us how much she loved the experience — so much so that she asked if she could come back the very next day! The spa has become very popular with our lovely residents, offering moments of relaxation, comfort, and a little indulgence that everyone thoroughly enjoys. 🫧😌

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed their first Pet Therapy session in our newly opened gardens 🌼 and Pet Corner here at Princess Christian Care Home, making the most of the fresh air and tranquil setting. Surrounded by beautiful, peaceful greenery 🌿, they spent a delightful sunny afternoon sipping tea 🫖, listening to calming music, and cuddling a wonderful variety of animals including our friendly rabbits 🐇, guinea pigs, chickens 🐓, and our charming tortoise 🐢, who quickly became a favourite!❤️

We recently enjoyed a fantastic trip 🚐 to The Lightbox Art Gallery and Museum in Woking with a group of our Princess Christian Care Home residents — a day that perfectly combined creativity and history. One of the highlights of our visit was the chance to admire the iconic pop art of Andy Warhol 🎨. His vibrant and instantly recognisable works sparked discussions among our group. We also took time to explore the fascinating exhibitions on the history of Woking, which offered a meaningful glimpse into the town’s past and its development over the years.

At Princess Christian Care Home, our residents have been keeping busy in the kitchen, whipping up a delightful range of sweet and savoury treats with plenty of teamwork, and a good pinch of pride. 🧑🏼‍🍳👩🏼‍🍳 Recently, our Cooking Club has been in full swing, with residents joining Chef Cristian, Head Chef Cosmin, and our Activities Team to create delicious homemade dishes. From comforting apple turnovers 🍏 and muffins 🧁 to sizzling fried eggs 🍳, we've loved the joyful smells and sounds of cooking together.

On Wednesday 23 July, we proudly hosted our summer party here at Princess Christian Care Home to mark the official opening of our beautiful new Bisley Dementia Garden. It was a truly special occasion, shared with our residents, their loved ones, and members of the wider community. We were delighted to welcome our Managing Director, colleagues from our head office, and the Deputy Mayor of Woking, who kindly performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially opening the garden and making the moment all the more memorable. Our residents and guests gathered to celebrate in the sunshine, enjoying a vibrant afternoon filled with music and conversation. 🙌💚

Princess Christian – an outstanding centre of excellence

An outstanding centre of excellence providing person-centred care for elderly people with nursing needs or those who have been diagnosed with dementia or related illnesses. Princess Christian Care Centre is located in the peaceful setting of Stafford Lake in the heart of the Surrey countryside. Close to Woking and the villages of Bisley and Knaphill, we are very much part of the local community.

We are a large, modern care home comprised of three specialist units (Bisley, Pirbright and Knaphill), each with their own separate facilities, lounges and kitchens and all bedrooms have ensuite facilities. We also have an in-house hair salon. Our bright and spacious lounges overlook the courtyard and gardens and provide the perfect setting for relaxing, taking part in activities or simply spending time with family and friends who are welcome to visit at any time.

Famed for our amazing food and dining, Princess Christian is extremely proud to have received an overall rating of ‘Outstanding’ from their CQC inspection in January 2020 – something that only 4% of UK Care Homes have managed to achieve. The CQC report highlights the Home’s outstanding person-centred care, responsive and knowledgeable staff, and their exceptional end-of-life care and support for both residents and their families.

Princess Christian Care Centre boasts the Investors in People Gold award and is Platinum Accredited by the Gold Standards Framework – the hallmark of superior person-centred end of life care. Our ISO 9001 certification is testament to our commitment to consistently improving the running of our Home and the efficiency of the services we provide for our residents.
