Sometimes we get stuck in life. We get stuck on the same ideas, the same thinking patterns, the same approach to problems. If we then use these same perspectives to seek change (for example, finding a new career, new relationship or even discovering who you are), we are unlikely to get results.
To reach that 'aha!' moment, we need to employ new ways of thinking, seeing, listening and sensing. Movement, mindfulness and sound therapy are tools that could help you discover new approaches to problems you're facing now!

Sometimes LOVE shows up as a CHOICE, beyond the initial passion and ease.

This happens in relationships but also in yoga practice. Often when we start something new, we get excited by the novel experiences. We want more of it. We throw ourselves all in.

Then comes a bottleneck. We start to see the faults - be it in a person, or perhaps the hypocrisy of the community... We begin to struggle keeping up the passion.

I certainly experienced this in my practice a number of times. Each time I felt disappointed that my love for yoga has faded. I stay away from the practice, from wanting to share the practice.

But after a while, I find that I'm still here, thinking about yoga. I choose to continue the practice, perhaps with slight adjustments.

It's not the initial "yes, yoga is amazing!" feeling. I see it for what it is, but I choose to stay. To me, this is also a form of true love. It's not all bliss and happiness, but constant learning, commitment, and making that choice to stay.

What a week it's been. End your week with a TWIST!
Release tension in the back. Chill out on the floor ✌️

1. Cross your left leg on top of the right.
2. Option to wrap your left foot around your right calf.
3. Drop both legs to the right.
4. Relax your arms on the floor.
5.Turn your head to the left or stay centred.
6. You can shift your legs toward your chest or away from your chest - explore what feels good to you.

Stay on one side for a minute or two before switching side.

I just need to... [insert something you want to change about your life]... then I will be happy.

It's a thought many of us have had. We unconsciously repeat this pattern of chasing after something that will never fulfill us. There will always be something that's not quite enough.

The things, events or people we chase after are often not what we really need to be happy. They are substitutes for the love we didn't receive, the recognition we didn't get, the acceptance we didn't feel...

Instead of chasing these never-ending substitutes, we could examine what it is that we are really after? If we go back to the source of the feeling of lack, we can release ourselves from this cycle of seeking.

We can be happy, here and now.

Functional yoga takes into account that our bodies and bone structures are different. It may be extremely easy for someone to do a textbook pose, whereas for some, the textbook version just doesn't work for them.

Yoga poses are a tool to becoming more mindful.

The body is always living in the present moment, while the mind can get distracted by the past or future.

Nowadays, strong and 'difficult' poses are quite popular, especially among people with busy lives. I think it's partly because the poses require so much concentration to hold, they push you to become aware of your body. For people who think a lot in their daily life, these poses are a quick way to access mindful moment.

Ultimately you need to find poses that work for you. If you are able to become mindful in child's pose and you don't feel the need to do more, then allow yourself to embrace those poses that may not look as fancy.

If you find yourself chasing fancy poses, perhaps take a moment to pause and consider if you can also appreciate the less fancy poses.

Anyone else finding it difficult to make true connections with yourself and others?

When we are so busy with things to do, with our minds packed all sorts of information and media stimuli, it is so hard to hear how we really feel, understand what we really need in this moment in time. This can leave us feeling empty, exhausted and lost.

💚 Take a moment to PAUSE.
💚 Even just for 30 seconds.
💚 Allow you body to be still.
💚 Become aware of your breathing.
💚 Follow your breath in.
💚 Trace your breath out from the body.

Start creating space in your daily life for you to rest, feel and reconnect.

Yin yoga is a restorative, slow paced yoga . The postures work with the connective tissues and joints, help release tension and improve circulation.

We will be practicing to live Tibetan singing bowl sound which helps tap into the meditative quality of yin yoga.
