Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care is a patient-centred charity delivering specialist palliative care for the whole family in the North West Surrey region. Each year we care for over 2000 patients and their families both in our hospice and in their own homes, where over 80% of our care is delivered, enabling patient choice and the best quality of life.

Priscilla Chandro led by example as she ran a Karaoke Festival celebrating International Karaoke Day to raise money for the Hospice this summer.

"It was such a magical day and I really felt Mum beside me the whole time – she loved singing. I know that she would have been so proud that I was doing this for the Hospice to thank them for the care and support they gave us all.”

In this edition, we share the story of the Jagpal family in marking the One-Year Anniversary of our ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS APPEAL, and we celebrate the naming of the Elizabeth Lofting Wing.

Our business supporter, Natta, proudly regale their triumph in the 3-Peak Challenge, and our Palliative Pacers once again inspire us with their latest challenge to take on the Reverse London Marathon.

And amongst other stories, we get an insight into a day in the life of Jo Sharpin, one of our Community Nurse Specialists, and also share the re-introduction of our Children’s Counselling Services.
