At nearly 79, this cyclist started exercising over the summer, and just a few months later, he was crowned a World Champion together with his team from Helsetunet Dypedalsåsen in Hvaler Municipality, Norway 🏆

We’re looking forward to seeing Hvaler compete again in this year’s championship🚴‍♀️

Marker Municipality engages retired seniors as cycling hosts at the local care and service centre. At its peak, 19 volunteers were involved in the project. Currently, 13 of them take turns on a regular schedule, and the municipality continues to receive inquiries from retirees who want to join.

🇳🇴 Road Worlds for Seniors is an international indoor cycling competition held every year in October. Kari (100) and the other cyclists at Kløfta look forward to the event all year long. It’s the perfect way to stay active and enjoy all the social moments that come with the competition🚴‍♀️🎉

Marker Municipality recruits senior citizens as volunteers to serve as cycling hosts at the local care home. These volunteers help residents get to the bikes, start the videos, and engage in conversation during the cycling sessions. It’s a win-win-win situation, staff are freed up to focus on other tasks, residents stay active, and both the cyclists and volunteers enjoy meaningful social interaction♥️🚴‍♀️
