ANXIETY can be cruel! Yes it’s true that we all need a bit of anxiety on occasion to help us perform well, such as for a job interview. It also helps protect us.
However, for some it pops up in situations where we don’t want or need it! 👀 Anxiety obviously doesn’t feel good… it can make us physiologically feel panicky and later drained of energy. 😫 As a result we often start to AVOID situations that make us feel this way! Makes sense doesn’t it? This comes with a big BUT‼️ If we avoid situations that make us anxious we are letting it win, and before we know it it’s spreads to many areas of our lives. We can stop feeling able to do things we want and need to do. 😔

We need to teach the brain when it is and isn’t appropriate to set off that anxiety alarm in the brain. 🚨With the right tools and support… this can easily be achieved! ✅

Why is it that many of us can only truly switch off and relax when we are on holiday?

We get that warm, contented feeling, where we feel in the present, curious, and at peace with ourselves! 🌞😎🥰

It’s such a shame that many of us struggle to bring that into our every day lives! We often get stuck on that hamster wheel and count down until the next break. 🗓️

Many clients say to me that they just want to feel calmer, contented, and more present in their everyday lives.
This CAN be achieved with the right skills. ✅

A good therapeutic relationship is essential!

In fact, did you know it’s the biggest predictor as to whether therapy will be successful or not!?

I truly believe that finding the right therapist for you is one of the most important decisions you will make when it comes to seeking support.

There are lots of different types of
therapists out there such as Clinical &
Counselling Psychologists, counsellors,
CBT practitioners and life coaches, all with different skills, qualifications and fees. It can be really confusing to know where to start. 🤷‍♀️

This is why I offer a free 30-minute appointment, so together we can decide if we are a good match. We can think about what support you are looking for and whether we feel I am the best person to help you going forward.

🍃The best investment you’ll ever make is in yourself! 🍃
We often spend our time, energy and money on bettering ourselves, usually our physical fitness or appearance.
I’ve heard so many people tell me they want to eat healthier, stop smoking, exercise more in 2023.
That’s great! But remember YOUR MENTAL HEALTH IS AS IMPORTANT AS YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH!
In fact, one can’t exist without the other!

Have you set goals for the new year?
How many of you have decided invest in your mental fitness?

This might look like:
☑️ Talking to someone on a bad day - tell them how you feel
☑️ Plan in down time to relax and unwind
☑️ Practice having boundaries and saying no more often
☑️ Practice self compassion
☑️ Doing something that makes you happy

You may want to work on things such as understanding yourself more, reducing anxiety and distress, worrying less, improving your confidence, improving sleep, having a focus, the list goes on!
These are all things I can help with!

Hi, I am Dr Claire Price. I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have over 10 years of experience working in mental health settings across the NHS and in private practice.

I am a warm, compassionate, and caring person. My passion is supporting individuals to achieve a better psychological wellbeing to live a fuller life. Collaboration with you is central to my approach, together we will build an understanding of your difficulties and plan as to how we might address them.

I use a range of evidence-based treatments according to the needs of the clients. This means that I may draw on more than one psychological model to best fit you. The main models I use to inform my practice include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT). I also use Mindfulness, Systemic approaches and Psychodynamic concepts.
