As it's Mental Health Awareness Week, I thought I'd share Peter Deadman's QiGong routine. His routines helped me a lot during lockdown, especially when I had Covid right at the beginning. It was an anxious time: I had closed my clinic 10 days before that (before it became compulsory), so found myself with an uncertain future. But I still worried whether I had unknowingly passed it on to vulnerable patients or family members and friends. The trajectory of Covid was much different back then, and I have to say it knocked me for six for about 3 weeks. At the same time, I knew there were many in a much worse position, as at least I didn't need hospitalisation. The gentle movements and breathing of QiGong are soothing, not just physically, but also mentally, and can really support patients' mental health.
