How freely are you able to move all the parts of your body?
Lack of movement in the body creates tension and friction and breeds pain.
Encouraging movement naturally creates freedom, joy, energy and power emotionally, physically and mentally.
How aware are you of your movement throughout the day, outside of the gym/class setting?
What have you done to try to create more movement in your day?

Doing nothing doesn’t just mean you don’t get better than you are now.

Doing nothing means you’ll actively lose fitness from where you are today:

💪 In five years’ time you’ll have lost around 5% of your muscle mass if over 30 - up to 15% over 70!

🚶🏻‍♀️Your ability to balance will reduce making you more likely to fall…and break a bone

🧎🏽‍♀️Lack of flexibility and mobility will make you more prone to injuries like frozen shoulder, or putting your back out.

How about, instead of doing nothing, you take action now and grab one of the last few spaces left for our Pilates classes?

- Practice balance to reduce risks of trips, slips and falls
- Learn stretches and releases to improve your flexibility and mobility.

Breathing has never seemed difficult ever before until you come to a Pilates class.....right? 🤣

It's not just you, breathing is one of the most difficult things to master when you first start a new type of exercise - I still get reminded to "aand breaaatheee" by my coaches too.

Unfortunately stress and work and inactivity and poor sleep and and and ....life, means our body's have often gotten out of good efficient breathing habits.

This video will show you how to reset, relax and take control of breathing again.
Practising this type of breathing will help reduce stress and get you ready to exercise again.

Also....you can do it anywhere!
At your desk if your boss stresses you out,
In the car after dropping the kids at school,
Or just chilling on your sofa for a few minutes before your evening Netflix 😉

It's a way to connect with body so you can move better, be pain free, get stronger and keep doing all the fun stuff like playing with kids or dancing or BJJ........(and make the every day stuff easier like carrying the shopping bags in from the car, taking the hoover up the stairs, picking stuff up off the floor 😮)

How are you getting on with 2025?

If you didn't quite get your exercise, fitness or movement resolutions started yet and are feeling a bit rubbish about it because you're still stiff and struggling with silly things like carrying the shopping or climbing the stairs (or reaching into the bottom drawer 🙈) then Don't Worry!!!! 🤗

You can now come and join me for my unique style of fun but related to real life pilates classes at The Armoury in Sutton.

- wear whatever you're comfortable in - no lycra required
- no one will be looking at you except me
- no one will know what they are doing because it's a New Class ✨️
- I want you to feel better when you leave so I won't be mean or embarrass you in class
- you just need to bring yourself and a bottle of water, we have everything else you need

Is January a good time of year for you to reset?
Maybe, maybe not.
If it is do you have an intention you want to build on going forward?
For me, I find myself in a good place to start rebuilding my strength and my intention is to be more aware of that every day.
I started today with 45 minutes of my own pilates practice, purely for me, nonone else - no filming, no teaching, no demonstrating. Just me and my body and my mind reconnecting with my nervous system and my inner self.
Start small, love yourself more. 🙏

Who wants to always wake up feeling full of energy and not have to start the day in pain?
We've all had that feeling at some point in our lifes right?
Maybe a very long time ago - maybe you think it's something you can't have any more and only young people have that luxury? Not so!
It is possible to have a good night's sleep more night's than not by addressing those few niggly things that deep down you really know are what's keeping you up at night.
If you have no serious mental or physical health issues here's a few things to think about to get you started:
1.Have an end of work day cut off time and create a habit that breaks you out of work into home time
2.Eat your evening meal 3 hours before bedtime
3.Stop any screen time 2 hours before bedtime, even with blue light filters
4. Start relaxing and winding down 1 hour before bedtime
5.Make bedtime between 9pm-10.30pm to get the best night's sleep
6.Make your bedroom cool and dark and don't have any devices in your room
If you need help with neck pain keeping you up at night message me for more advice.
You might also feel you need to talk to someone about stress or anxiety and this can really help too.
I don't always manage to do all these things - nobody is perfect right? - but I do know on the days when I finish work by 6, get dinner early and have some good chilled non-screen time with my family I definitely sleep much better, I get 8 hours sleep and I wake up without an alarm clock refreshed and ready for my day.
