You could be suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). SAD effects roughly 2 million people in the UK every year and is where individuals feel depression symptoms as a result of changes in sunlight effecting the body's hormones and circadian rhythm.

How can you help employees during this period?
❄️Communication - Listen to them and make them feel supported at work
❄️Encourage them to seek help from a professional - either through their GP or through your healthcare provider
❄️Sunlight exposure - Encourage going outside during work lunch breaks
❄️Encouraging healthy choices in the office such as discounted gym memberships or keeping healthy snacks in stock
❄️Educate employees on the symptoms of SAD and what to do if they notice any of them
❄️Manage workloads effectively to ensure no one is experiencing high levels of stress

Flu Season Has Arrived Early!
This year, flu season is starting earlier than expected, and new variants are making the rounds. Even if the vaccine isn’t a perfect match, it still offers strong protection against severe illness—especially for children, older adults, and those with underlying conditions.

Here’s how you can help protect yourself and others:
✔️ Get your flu shot as soon as possible (it takes about 2 weeks to build immunity). Getting vaccinated not only helps you but also contributes to community immunity, protecting those who are more vulnerable.
✔️ Stay home if you feel unwell . It’s essential to listen to your body and prevent spreading illness to others. Your health matters!
✔️ Practice good hygiene—wash hands, cover coughs. Regular hand-washing is one of the simplest yet most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. Don’t forget to sanitize frequently touched surfaces!
✔️ Speak to your doctor early about antivirals if symptoms appear . Early intervention can significantly reduce the severity of illness and speed up recovery.

🏥November marks Movember, a powerful global movement raising awareness of men’s health issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and su***de prevention.
By sporting a moustache, participants not only embrace a fun and quirky look but also spark conversations and promote education surrounding these often-taboo topics. At K2, we see first-hand how men’s health challenges can impact not only individual wellbeing but also workplace safety, performance, and team culture. That’s why we’re proud to stand with Movember in encouraging open conversations, early intervention, and proactive support.
