Don't replace, resurrect! We repair, refurbish and re-lens your treasured eyewear. We will perform repairs that most opticians say cannot be done.

We have twenty years experience in eyewear and especially in the luxury, high-end sector. We have been working with hand-made frames throughout our experience and have the necessary skills and care to look after your expensive frames. Our repairs are carried out by our highly skilled craftsmen and are guaranteed for 3 months from their return to you. From replacing screws, and nose pads to making

entire new frames that match your broken ones exactly. As the potential repair list is enormous, we have not been able to list all so if you have a request that is not mentioned, please email with a clear photo of the damage and one of the full frame to our email address and we will try to make an assessment. We make lenses to prescription in standard and thinner lenses and also we can replace scratched, non-prescription sun lenses. We offer Hoya lenses as standard. Hoya are a Japanese company that, although very well known in the camera industry, are less so in eyewear however we believe in their quality and durability and are pleased to make them our provider of choice. If you require an alternative, please contact us so we can quote you for another brand. We can make a clip on sunglass for your spectacles, allowing you the luxury of prescription sunglasses without the cost of a new pair of glasses. When you come to change your prescription, you can keep both the frames and the clip and just change the lenses. Finally we can take your worn frames and give them a new lease of life through careful cleaning in our ultrasonic tank, then polishing and buffing on our specialist equipment giving you the feel of a new pair of glasses for relatively little in these austerity times.

FL-41 tints are gaining popularity due to many celebrity wearers. It is a therapeutic tint that precisely filters specific wavelengths of light that are known to trigger migraines, eye strain, visual discomfort and many other conditions; particularly from screens or fluorescent lighting.
My client wanted some for office work but wanted to be without them socially so we made a clip on glazed with the special tint.

Leaving the workshop today; Hannah has struggled to find sunglasses that cut the glare as much as she requires. We’ve thrown everything at this one. Polarised, bronze mirror coating on the outside and anti reflection on the inside. They look amazing and should ensure that no amount of sun is going to spoil her day.

Cheryl has these authentic vintage Bausch and Lomb Rayban Wayfairers. They were used and abused but still structurally good.
I disassembled, cleaned, polished and reassembled them. I also adjusted them so they are back to their original alignment and fit.
If you have a pair you’d like to press back into service, give me a shout.

First custom clip on of the year. This one is on its way to Edinburgh, land of the sun.
Finished in rust brown to match the vintage Oliver Peoples Denison in their best colour way, Raintree. Graeme has made the excellent choice of having polarised lenses.

30 years ago today, I walked into Angela Campbell Opticians in Manchester to start my first day of work. Originally it was a Saturday job with some filling in for other people‘s sick days and holidays but quickly progressed to a full-time role and eventually managing a store.
I didn’t know it at the time, but it was one of the best opticians in Europe which focused on quality of products and fantastic customer service. This was my training for the first three years in this career, everything I do was learned in those early days.
In the intervening years, I’ve worked in all sorts of places (even Specsavers), had my own store in Covent Garden, worked in eyewear production, and been taken to America, Hong Kong, Tokyo, the Middle East and all over Europe.
As always in life, there have been highs and lows but it has never been dull.
Hopefully, I have another 30 years ahead of me and I look forward to using my experience and knowledge to help you with your eyewear problems.

One of two frames I sent out last week having fitted nose pad arms to. There’s a video of the process on my YouTube channel but in short, the original nose pads are filed off, the area sanded and then polished before titanium pad arms are inserted and pads attached.
If you have plastic frames that sit too low or too close to your face, this is the solution.

Not even Halloween yet and my heart was racing, trying to fit premium single vision 1.6 index lenses to this!
“Inflated” sunglasses that did have silver mirrored tints now have high quality prescription lenses.
Not the easiest trick to pull off but they look a treat.

“No job too small” ads used to say in the old days. Seems to be a lost concept in this modern disposable age. Not here though! Alix’s Ted Baker sunglasses had lost a screw and having bought them at the airport, she didn’t know where to have them repaired. She found us locally and I selected the correct size and colour screw and fitted it for her in 5 minutes.

You may remember Luke’s lovely Merx sunglasses from last summer. Well he managed to bend the arm in a way that stretched the rivets that hold the hinge on.
Fixing it was actually fairly straightforward with a bit of grunt and a doming tool. Nice and tight now.
