Why choose yoga teacher training?

For many people, it doesn’t begin with wanting to teach. It begins with a sense that your practice is asking for something more - more understanding, more context, more depth. A curiosity about why yoga works the way it does, and how it’s meant to be lived, not just practised for an hour here and there.

Teacher training creates space to slow down and really look. To study movement alongside breath and philosophy, to understand how steadiness is built over time, and how practice shapes the nervous system, the mind, and daily life. Some people go on to teach; others don’t. Both are equally valid outcomes.

Yoga was never meant to be performative. It’s a lived discipline, something that we return to again and again as life changes. Our training is held by a faculty of experienced female teachers, shaped by different backgrounds, perspectives, and seasons of life - women who practise, teach, parent, adapt, question, and keep showing up to the work.

We study philosophy alongside practice, drawing from classical sources like the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, always in ways that feel grounded, relevant, and human. This isn’t about chasing peak poses or fixing yourself. It’s about consistency, inquiry, and learning how yoga supports a life over the long term.

If you’re considering teacher training in 2026, our course details are available for those who’d like time to reflect and feel into the commitment. We begin in March.

There’s something powerful about making rhythm together.

This Drumming Workshop is an open, welcoming space - no experience needed, no expectations to perform or “get it right.” Just a shared beat, steady hands, and the simple pleasure of creating sound as a group.

Drumming can support well-being in gentle, tangible ways: helping us settle the nervous system, release held tension, and feel connected - to ourselves and to one another.

The session is led by Guy, whose calm, grounded approach makes this accessible to everyone, whether it’s your first time touching a drum or you’ve played before. You’ll be guided step by step, with space to listen, join in, or simply feel the rhythm unfold.

Come as you are.

Sunday 8th February 7pm
Be part of something shared.
Let rhythm do what it does best.

This is the part of January we don’t often talk about,
when the novelty fades and the real work begins.

In yoga, showing up anyway is a quiet kind of devotion.
The texts call this abhyāsa - steady, repeated practice over time. Not intense, or perfect. Just sincere.

We show up, we practise, we do the work, and slowly, the stresses that build within us begin to loosen. They don’t just magically away or cease to exist. They become manageable.
Not because we push them away, but because the mindful attention of dedication steadies our energy, and holding space for ourselves softens our hearts.

Yoga reminds us that peace isn’t produced through force, or chasing trends, or magical thinking.
It’s revealed through dedication, patience, and care, through the willingness to stay with the practice even when it’s no longer new.

This is not a quick path.
But it is a faithful one.
Over time, yoga changes how we breathe, how we respond, and how we live - and that’s what we want to hold space for here.

Keep showing up 🙏🏽

Yoga reveals itself slowly.

Through abhyāsa, practice becomes steady - a repeated return that shapes the body, breath, and attention over time.

When that steadiness is held with intention, it becomes sādhana: not a technique, but a path - oriented toward freedom rather than improvement.

This is not a quick path, and it doesn’t ask for intensity or perfection.
It asks for continuity. For showing up again, and again, and again.

A lived practice, quietly shaping how we breathe, perceive, and meet life.

If you’re feeling the pull toward something deeper, this is where it begins - not with more effort, but with commitment to return.

A small update to help you find what you’re looking for 🌿

Our weekly studio classes continue to live on our app and Momenc class calendar.

But if you’re looking for courses (like Beginners Yoga) or events (such as sound baths, workshops, or seasonal rituals), you’ll now find them in a different place.

✨ The Shala is the new home for everything beyond the regular timetable, a dedicated space for deeper study, longer practices, and special gatherings.

You can explore it here:

A clearer path, and more space for each part of the practice to live where it belongs.

January can quietly exhaust us - even without obvious busyness.
The body holds tension. The mind stays alert. Rest doesn’t always come easily.

Deep Rest offers a space to downshift - through supported shapes, breath, and guided rest - allowing the nervous system to soften and recalibrate.

This is not sleep, and it’s not effort.
It’s learning how to truly let go.

Foundations of Breath & Meditation - 5 Week Course
Breath and meditation are often spoken about as simple - yet many people are never shown how to practise them in a way that feels grounded, safe, and sustainable.

This 5-week course offers a steady introduction to both, building week by week so that understanding grows alongside experience.

We explore breath not as a technique to control the mind, but as a bridge - supporting regulation, clarity, and a deeper relationship with the body.

Meditation is approached gently and practically, with space for questions, reflection, and integration into everyday life.

This course is suitable whether you’re completely new, returning after time away, or looking to establish a more confident, consistent foundation.

Starting Tuesday 13th of January at 11am
