It was an honour to join Wokingham in Need at their celebratory event last Friday evening, marking their incredible achievement of receiving the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service 👑

The King’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest recognition a local voluntary group can receive in the UK, often described as the equivalent of an MBE for charities. It celebrates organisations that go above and beyond to support their communities, demonstrating outstanding impact, dedication and compassion.

A huge congratulations to Sue and the entire Wokingham in Need team, this recognition is so well deserved and thank you for everything you do for us at Alexandra Grange.

This month, our Food of the World journey took us to beautiful Greece 🇬🇷

Residents at Alexandra Grange enjoyed a delicious Greek themed lunch, filled with vibrant flavours and classic dishes that brought a taste of the Mediterranean right to our home.

In the afternoon, the experience continued with a selection of traditional Greek sweet treats, giving everyone the chance to indulge and try something new 🍯🍰 To complete the day, we listened to authentic Greek music in the Café.

A huge well done to Alfie, who has bravely shaved his head in support of the The Little Princess Trust.

His hair will be donated to help create wigs for children and young people facing hair loss and thanks to his incredible effort (and your generosity!), he has raised over £700 for this amazing charity 👏

A special thank you to our wonderful hairdresser Marcia for helping make it all happen ✂️

We are so proud of you, Alfie, what an incredible thing to do! 🌟

💚✂️Todays the Day! - Alfie is Shaving His Head! ✂️💚

Our amazing gardener, Alfie, here at Alexandra Grange Care Home, will be shaving his head TODAY at 3pm in the salon in support of The Little Princess Trust.

The Little Princess Trust provides free, real hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or other medical conditions. They also fund vital research into childhood cancers, making a real difference to families when they need it most.
