The Happiness Hub -Alison Relax Kids Wokingham Areas-

The Happiness Hub -Alison Relax Kids Wokingham Areas- Relax Kids helps children manage stress, anxiety and difficult feelings whilst boosting self-esteem, confidence and improving sleep. Whilst having fun :)

I have worked in Primary Schools for 11 years, as a teacher,
PSHCE lead and qualified SENCo. I have always been passionate about the social and emotional wellbeing of the child. I first found Relax Kids when I was looking to further support my own little boy with starting school. I was captivated with the magicalness and impact it had. Becoming a Relax Kids Coach has been the beginning of a little dream to further support children and families. To feel good about themselves, to develop the skills in becoming resilient, confident and able to calmly manage whatever life throws at them, with a smile on their face :)

Relax Kids can be enjoyed by all ages from pre-school to pensioners! Contact me to find out more. Instagram

I agree NeuroWild
What a wonderful idea, a social group with the theme of parties. Supporting children and allowing the safe space to experience parties in a way that is comfortable for them.

I wanted to share just. The loveliest idea.

It isn't my idea. One of the lovely Speechies I mentor, Marissa, mentioned it during one of our chats.

Basically, it's a Social Group they're going to run at their clinic (note: not teaching inauthentic social skills, not teaching masking or neuronormativity).

The theme of the group is Parties.
Birthday parties, Christmas parties, Halloween, whatever.

The kids get to come along each week and participate in party games, activities, routines. They get to try out the different things, watch, decide how they want to participate, get to know the patterns. They get to do it with a familiar small group, in a sensory-safe space, with familiar neuro-affirming professionals there supporting them.

And I just. Absolutely love the concept.

Because parties can be SO overwhelming for our kids. They are often inaccessible for a lot of reasons. And also, many of our kids just don't get invited.

How beautiful to have this as a low-pressure option for some of our kids who really want that experience. I would have such fun running a group like that.

Anyway. I needed to pass the idea along. I'd love to see some other clinics offering groups like this.

What do you think?
Have you seen similar things?
I'd love to hear what else people are doing.

This is a great strategy to remember.

Sometimes when a child feels anxious, their brain gets stuck in a loop of worrying thoughts.

Their mind keeps going round and round, and it can be hard for them to switch their attention to something else.

One small trick some children find helpful is sucking a sour sweet. The sharp, surprising taste can interrupt the worry cycle and give the brain something new to focus on. That sudden sensory jolt can help the brain pause for a moment and reset.

It’s not a cure for anxiety, but simple sensory tools like this can sometimes help a child shift out of a spiral and find their way back to calm.

Small strategies can make a big difference when big feelings take over.

Hi,
How are you?

This is just for fun thanks to

But seriously how are you?

How many times a day do we greet someone with this?
How many times do we stop and wait, fully wait to hear the answer, or read the persons face, body language or get that felt sense?

How many times, do we check by asking again.
How are you really?
