We’re pleased to announce that Vanessa Wright has been appointed Deputy Chief Nursing Officer at the Trust.

Vanessa brings nearly 26 years of mental health nursing experience, strong system leadership from her time in Birmingham and Solihull NHS Foundation Trust, and national recognition for her impact and innovation. Her career spans PICU, acute and dementia care, and the development of the UK’s first integrated urgent care hub for NHS 111.

We’re excited to welcome Vanessa back to the Trust as she works with colleagues and communities to strengthen quality of care and support our ongoing priorities. 💙

This voluntary role helps promote the mental health and wellbeing of mothers during the postnatal period, while supporting positive early experiences for children aged newborn to two years.

What you’ll do:

- Help staff set up age-appropriate activities

- Engage positively with mothers and their children during sessions

- Clean and disinfect toys and activity areas after each group

This is a meaningful opportunity to support families at an important stage of life and gain experience within community perinatal mental health services.
