✨ Diwali Celebrations at Maplebrook! ✨

Last week, our home was filled with colour, laughter, and the delicious aroma of Indian spices as we celebrated Diwali – the Festival of Lights. 🌟

Our wonderful carers Pam, Pam, and Priya, together with our fabulous Hospitality Team, Susan and Kim, treated everyone to a feast of traditional home-cooked Indian dishes. 🍛💛

Residents and staff joined in the celebrations — sharing food and dancing the afternoon away! 💃🕺

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special and brought a little extra sparkle to our home. 🪔💖

💃✨ Music brings magic to Maplebrook ✨💃

We thought that our wonderful resident Lillian deserved her own post! She was up on her feet dancing with our fantastic team during a recent live performance. She especially lit up when hearing songs from her youth — proof of just how powerful music can be in unlocking memories and sparking joy. 🎶💖

Moments like these remind us why music therapy is such an important part of life at Maplebrook. It lifts spirits, encourages movement, and creates connections that go far beyond words. 🌟

🎶✨ We had such a wonderful afternoon here at Maplebrook! ✨🎶

A big thank you to the lovely Beth Belle for visiting us and filling our home with music. She treated our residents to a fantastic variety of songs from the 50s and beyond, and it wasn’t long before everyone was clapping, singing along, and even dancing! 💃🕺

It was a joy to see so many smiles and happy faces – music really does bring us all together. 💖

We’re already looking forward to welcoming Beth back again soon! 🎤🌟

💅✨ A little pampering goes a long way!

Our wonderful carer, Megan, went the extra mile today and treated the ladies to a nail session. Not only is Megan a caring member of our team, but she’s also a nail technician – and she brought her talents in to brighten everyone’s day. 🌸

This week, Steffan 'The Animal Man' brought along some surprising friends — including an owl, snakes, a tarantula, a honey bear, and a lizard!

There were gasps, giggles, and a few squeals.… but in the end, everyone handled them all like true adventurers 🌟

🌷 A Thoughtful Thank You 🌷

This week, our team at Maplebrook received a beautiful hamper of chocolates and a heartfelt card describing them as “superstars.” 💛

The gift came from the family of a resident who recently passed away. In their words and kindness, they expressed gratitude for the care, compassion, and support given during such a difficult time.

For us, it is a privilege to be alongside our residents and their families, not only through the joyful moments but also in times of loss. To be recognised in this way means so much to every member of the team.

Thank you to the family for these special words and gestures – they remind us why we do what we do. 🌟

🎯 Hoop Challenge at Maplebrook! 🎯

Our residents had lots of fun taking part in a friendly game of hoop toss – aiming to throw the hoop and see if they could land it over the post. A couple of successful throws made it look easy, but it turned out to be trickier than expected!

The activity was full of laughter and focus, while also helping to support hand–eye coordination and gentle movement. A simple game, but a big hit with everyone!

💪 Keeping Fit at Maplebrook! 🏐🎶

Our residents were delighted to welcome back James Bickley Running - Personal Training and Keep Fit for the Elderly for another fun and energising session!

These regular visits are all about keeping our residents active, supple, and smiling – with a mix of ball games, light weights, and plenty of laughs along the way. The sessions are fully inclusive, making sure everyone can join in and feel the benefits.

You could really see the endorphins flowing afterwards – happy faces, lifted spirits, and an extra spring in everyone’s step!
