Dear Bachelor,

The Bible says a man should leave his father and mother to cleave to his wife.

Leaving your mom to live with your wife in your own space (your own house) is maturity and also respect for your wife.

If you're not ready to have a place of your own where you'll live with your wife alone, and raise your kids together, you're probably not yet ready for marriage.

Why marry a woman and then go live with her in your mother's place or your parent's house or family house? It's all shades of wrong.

That wife will hardly be respected neither will she be comfortable. She deserves all the peace she needs and she will get it mostly when there are no third parties living with you.

Please, do well to put your wife in her place, a place of honor.

Dear winning couple,

Ensure you surround yourself with friends who believe that marriage can work out well and fine with the help of God and with your efforts in addition.

Separate yourself from men who preach heresies or fallacies about marriage.

Dissociate from men who believes in being the 'man of the house' with force but refuses to dwell with their wives according to knowledge.

Run away from women who claim to be feminists, believing they're equal with their husbands. That's not what the Bible teaches!

Don't mingle with women who are ready to divorce their husbands whenever they don't meet their expectations, and they even try to teach you how to starve your husband in the other room whenever he offends you.

Avoid having conversations with men/women who discourage unity in marriage but encourage 'minding your business' in the home.

Strive to learn and know more about how to make your marriage work! Where others fail, be determined to go through and be victorious.

Marriage is not for the naive, nor for the faint hearted, or the lazy. You must be ready to work hard prayerfully, financially, physically, emotionally, and TOGETHER!

Attend seminars, go for mentorship, read books, listen to messages - do anything and everything possible to learn more and grow and exhibit wisdom (by applying the knowledge you have in your marriage).

If the marriage tends to fail, don't put the blame on anyone, rather fight to rise up again.
And always remember that God, the author of the institution of marriage is always ready to hold your home if you hand it over to Him.

If God be for you, no misunderstanding, no personality, no force, no issues can be against you!

I saw two movies early this year and I learnt greatly from them.

In marriage, what we often think is the best way to handle matters end up being the wrong way. We make wrong moves because our mind tells us so or should I say because the devil suggests to us to do so.

I have come to understand that some ideas suggested to us especially during misunderstandings with our spouses are deceits of Satan, that we often do not realize until later. Some of these ideas include:

Talk back at him!
Snub him or her!
Deny him/her s*x!
Don't eat together!
Avoid communication and contact with him or her!
Retaliate!
Report him/her to either parents!
Bad mouth him/her to your friends or hers!
Start keeping secrets!
Start cheating! Etc.

And many other ideas, all suggested by the devil. At first, you may buy or have bought some of them hurriedly because of anger or bitterness in your heart; but along the line, you'll realize your folly.

I don't know if the devil still suggests some, all or more these ideas to you as a weapon of defense when you and your spouse have a misunderstanding, if so, you need to take hold of yourself and surrender your mind to God to help you overcome them.

They are all strategies of the devil to destroy marriages. His aim is to cause separation between spouses. Even though they're living together, their hearts and mind would be far away from each other...

No marriage thrives where secrecy, retaliation, strive, bitterness, anger, etc lies.

It will only thrive when forgiveness, reconciliation, intimacy, consideration, patience, temperance, mutual respect and friendship is constant.

Most importantly, a marriage that is surrendered into God's hands will no doubt last for a very long time, I could say till eternity.
But we must first surrender in the place of PRAYER.

All these and more have I learnt from experience too.

May God give us wisdom to make our marriages work as it should in JESUS' name, amen!🙏🏻

In June 2022, Winning Wives Club started a weekly prayer meeting scheduled to hold every Wednesday of the week.

We tagged it HOUR OF INTERCESSION.

Very few joined when we began.

I remember one of the women that joined them, came with a request concerning conception, and we tabled it before God.
To the glory of His name, she conceived the following month.🙌🏻

After that, series of testimonies regarding healing, conception, relocation, financial provision, etc have followed.

It's been a year of AWESOMENESS in God's presence during the HOURS OF INTERCESSION held every week, the testimonies are a proofs that God is indeed in our midst.

I am not a magician, nor do I heal but I have a God that answers prayers, that heals, that provides and I'm here to celebrate God and appreciate Him for all He has done these past months.

I'm looking forward to more wondrous works of His in our midst.
