Is your body getting you down?

In 2024, I reached my heaviest weight ever, even more than I did during my pregnancy! As a weight and nutritionist, persona trainer and fitness instructor, I felt I had let myself down. The joys of battling perimenopause and now 2 years post menopause, had drained my energy, and I thought this was my new normal. I was baffled by why I couldn’t lose weight despite exercising and eating mindfully.

Realising I needed to change for my happiness, for my long term health, for a better me….. I revisited the basics of my nutrition knowledge. The answers were there all along, i just had to regig them about to fit my new hormones. The meal plans I once used to help others lose weight, were evidenced based and proved sucessfull. All I had to do was tweak the macros to help support hormone balance.

There are days when you might not feel like showing up, just like I didn’t today. But remember, if you don’t prioritise yourself, who will? It’s so easy to moan about wanting to improve, but without putting in the effort, it’s just empty talk. Life is about balance, absolutely! But when you’re going through changes, whether it’s personal growth or dealing with those tricky hormones, make sure to prioritise your needs and build that consistency. Don’t let those challenges wear you down, make it part of your daily routine, just like going to work. Don’t make it an option. You’ve got this; show up for yourself
