Meet the fantastic youth advocates, young leaders, Commonwealth Children & Youth Disability Network - CCYDN youth representatives whom during Conference of State Parties CRPD in New York at the United Nations. delivered powerful presentations and key important messages with clear directions on the structural and systematic change shift needed to achieve children and youth with disabilities meaningful participation, inclusion and their human rights.
Their advocacy throughout 2025 for their meaningful participation, to have their voices heard and be taken seriously, influence decision making which impact their everyday lives and their futures resonates with the themes of the following International Days:
♿ 20th November 2025 - World Children Day the theme ‘My Day, My Rights’, focusing on listening to children's daily experiences and amplifying their voices to advocate for their fundamental rights
♿ 3rd December 2025 - International Day of Persons with Disabilities theme ‘Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress’ highlighting the importance of the inclusion and real involvement of people with disabilities in decision-making processes that affect their lives. This means all aspects of social, economic, cultural, and political life to ensure a just, equitable, and sustainable future.
♿ 10th December 2025 - Human Rights Day theme ‘Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials’, this resonates with the rights in the UNCRC and UNCRPD rights to life survival and development, health, wellbeing, education, family, home, work, nutrition, dignity, safety and live free from discrimination. Children and young people with disabilities views and contributions on the things that matter to them affecting them daily are given due weight to influence decisions affecting their lives and their voices are heard.
