To mark World Mental Health Day today, Councillor Obaida Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Community, visited Sanctuary Hub to find out more about the services it provides.

Based at 84 Salop Street in the city centre, Wolverhampton Sanctuary Hub provides out-of-hours mental health support for anyone aged 18+ who needs a safe, supportive space. For help, please call 0808 802 2288 or text 07860 065168.

Today is world mental health day 2025 and I have the privilege to host WCR Radio Live With Jason Forrest in partnership with Wolverhampton Rethink Hub ( Wolverhampton Wellbeing Hub) At the train station. Let's all play our parts in looking after our own mental health and well-being as well as supporting others to stay well. Today marks World Homeless Day and anyone is welcome to drop by and have a chat with representatives from City of Wolverhampton Council and its partners at a special stall in Dudley Street (outside McDonald's) until 3pm.
Staff from P3 Charity Enjoy Wolverhampton Good Shepherd Services Changing Lives Recovery Near You are on hand to talk about the support available in Wolverhampton all year round.

The All Veteran Wellbeing Project provides wellbeing support to Veterans, family members and carers of Armed Forces Veterans based in the Black Country (West Midlands)

Within this project, we offer:
▪️Mental Health awareness training sessions
▪️12 week programme to increase emotional resilience and personal empowerment
▪️Regular Peer Support groups
▪️Access to a local network of Veteran Ambassadors

All sessions and workshops are completely FREE and run by fully trained staff who all have lived experience of mental health journeys.

📰 Celebrate World Menopause Day with NOWT’s Women’s Health Bus Tour

A brand-new women’s health collective, NOWT (Navigating Our Womanhood Together), is hitting the road with an exciting Women’s Health Bus Tour this October — and you’re invited!

Marking World Menopause Day, this free community-powered event will bring expert advice, friendly conversations, and wellbeing support directly to Sandwell and Wolverhampton.

🚍 On board the bus, you’ll find:

Chats with health experts on menstrual and reproductive health, breast and ovarian cancer

Mini health checks and wellbeing freebies

The chance to meet the NOWT collective – 12 local organisations working together to support our communities

❤️ For free help and support on a wide range of money matters and health and safety concerns, come along to a community open day in Tettenhall next week.
Help at the Hub takes place on Monday, 6 October, from 11am-2pm in the Hopkins Room, St Michael's Parish Centre, Upper Street, WV6 8QF. The venue is next door to Tettenhall Library.

Residents can drop by and get free advice – no need to book!
