OCD doesn’t wait for the NHS waitlist. While young people wait months for assessments or support, placements are under huge strain. That’s when stability can break down.
At WVSN, we step in early with trauma-aware mentoring, routines support and family liaison — bridging the gap until statutory services catch up.

For neurodivergent and emotionally vulnerable young people aged 14–25, long waiting lists can leave them at risk of exploitation, grooming, substance misuse, and school breakdowns. At WVSN we step in early with non clinical, early mentoring, floating support, and trauma-informed interventions — helping young people stay safe, connected, and on track.

We stabilise where possible, promote independence and help young people awaken the drive, motivation and confidence to achieve meaningful goals that supports a great future.

Because every child deserves life beyond the waitlist!

For many neurodivergent young people, long waitlists mean more than delays, they mean missed opportunities, rising stress, and families left to cope alone.
At Whale Verse Support Network, we make sure waiting doesn’t mean standing still. We offer floating support, parental advocacy, vocational skill-building, guidance with personal budgets, and pathways into employment. Our all-round support gives families the tools and confidence to keep moving forward until specialist care is in place.

Every month on an NHS waitlist is a month too long for a young person to feel unseen.

Across England, thousands of neurodivergent young people are waiting — sometimes over a year — for an initial assessment or support. Families are left carrying the weight on their own: missed school, isolation at home, drained parents, and rising risks.

At Whale Verse Support Network, we bridge that gap.
✅ Weekly 1:1 support for young people aged 14–25
âś… Early intervention to stabilise routines, confidence, and engagement
âś… Family support to reduce stress and burnout at home
âś… School and professional liaison to keep young people connected
âś… Step-up services to help them explore education, training, or work opportunities

We don’t replace NHS care — we hold the space until it arrives, reducing the risk of needs escalating into crisis.

đź“© Referrals are now open across the West Midlands.
Parents, GPs, schools, and professionals — message us today or email info@whaleversesupportnetwork.co.uk to refer a young person.

Support doesn’t have to wait!!!

“I can hear you, but I cannot always process what you are saying.”
That is life with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), a listening disability that affects how the brain makes sense of sound.
APD can make rapid speech sound like one continuous blur. In school, this might mean missing key words, struggling in group discussions, or being labelled as not paying attention, when the reality is far more complex.

At Whale Verse Support Network, we do not diagnose APD, but we work with young people who live with it every day. We help them develop listening strategies, build confidence, and thrive while waiting for specialist input.

Watch the full video to understand what APD feels like, how it impacts lives, and what support can make a difference.

From the WHO and UN in Geneva, back to the frontline in the West Midlands — the message is clear: we can’t keep young people waiting for support.

Whale Verse Support Network exists for the in-between — when assessments are delayed, needs are escalating, and families are overwhelmed.

We partner with professionals to deliver early, structured, relationship-based support for 14–25s who are neurodivergent or emotionally at risk.

Referrals are open. Let’s bridge the gap together.
